100% then this was a decision due to the business side rather than baseball side.
Baseball im fully expecting to see the status quo
…but do they not grasp that baseball guides the business side here? Like nobody wants to go to the games because the Pohlads suck. Falvey sucked under the constraints. And nobody trusted them with their money
I just refuse to accept that this team is a contender. The lack of DH, the overabundance of shite-mid left handers. The lack of bullpen. The questions over EVERY pitcher not named Joe Ryan/Pablo Lopez
Edit: i forgot – the ONLY player drafted by Falvey to become an all star was Brent Rooker. In 10 years. Rooker.
🙄
Unless you’re gonna take on salary in trades (lol), there ain’t a whole lot left for you to spend your pennies on there Tom.
Say what you want about every other Pohlad that’s existed, but so far this Tom Pohlad isn’t messing around. He absolutely cleaned house and seems more interested in winning than any other Pohlad I’ve heard of
New POBO doesnt get to pick his own number 2…
Welcome back Terry Ryan?
I’m 100% committed to not spending a dime until the Pohlads sell.
Doesn’t matter if there is money to spend. All the good players are gone
this is fucking gross
$100,000 is money. $100,000,000 is money. This means nothing. Our team will continue to be bottom barrel, competing with White Sox and Marlins for players/prospects so long as the Pohlads have any say on the team.
Reading between the lines on some things reported on Gleeman and the Geek, Zoll sounds like an unimpressive sidekick.
A dollar is still money, right?
Lol
“Still money” means like $5mil
Were trading for Ohtani.
… as they continue to amass waiver claim infielders with career .160 batting averages
Outside of the starting rotation, this is the worst roster in MLB with a bullet
The money they can add is the difference of what they saved firing Falvey, so maybe a few hundred thousand minus the Pohlads cut, so like $50 which might net us a decent ball boy if they throw in free hot dogs which they wont, so we will end up with a Somali kid that lost his parents to ICE and has no were to go so he sleeps in the batting cage eating leftover food from the concessions that wont sell due to fans not showing up like the owners for this team.
There ain’t no money
We have Falvey’s salary to spend on the team now. We can probably add 5 to 6 Double A guys with that money!
Well they’re currently at $105 million, so I would fucking hope they are planning to add to that.
I’ll believe it when I see it
Watch out Zoll, the minute you tell Tom his payroll and revenue expectations aren’t realistic, you’ll join Failvey on the unemployment line. We thought Falvey was a yessir, what’s Zoll going to end up having to be to keep his job for any length of time.🤣
Sell the team
Tom Pohlad just reassured us that we just need to play some meaningful baseball in the fall then we will be able to spend some payroll in 2-3 years.
Besides how unlikely that is, you’d have to take him at his word, which I don’t.
