  1. The Rays ? The Rays ? No !….they want tax payers to foot the bill ! Screw the Rays !!! being a tax paying Floridian….I say take a hike !! I just hope most around here, especially politicians have enough common sense to say NO !!!

  2. Lots of people getting paid off in that number. I live literally less than 1 mile from the current Rays stadium. I don’t know what the attendance is, but it’s not very good. They can say it’s because it’s in St Pete but I’m not sure it’s gonna matter where it is. I love baseball, but people in Florida. Don’t seem to want to sit and watch it.

  3. Maybe it includes that $500MM payment to the Yankees for them to be okay with it all? More seriously (I think I was joking), perhaps the new owners of the Tampa Bay Rays really want to relocate the team to Orlando, or to Jacksonville where they're from? Perhaps anywhere but Tampa?

  4. Several thoughts here. I live in the Tampa area. I never went to a Rays game in St Pete for all of the reasons used to get a park away from there. This video is spot on. There is a factor here that needs to be talked about. There is a still a real sour taste in the mouths of residents of Tampa over the public money used in building the Bucs stadium. If a large portion of the money planned for construction here is public funds I can see no future for this ball park at any price.

  5. It’s really funny that people still think this will be a revenue sharing team after the ballpark is built. That’s the level of confidence people have that the attendance problem will be fixed in Tampa. Just move to Orlando. At least they think the tourism will help the team draw more.

  6. What percentage of the estimated costs go toward grafting politicians and their crony contracters, crooked unions, no show jobs, overcharging construction material suppliers?
