  3. Prediction: Larkin is going to go on a tear similar to the beginning of the season after the Olympic break and shut the haters up.

    He’s having a rough stretch but I truly don’t believe he’s been awful or anything. I’m confident he’s going to hit another gear coming up here and just in time for playoffs

  6. Gibby gave up an awful goal and a great goal but my burning seething hatred for the avs will power these Red Wings. Detroit is skating better and this one will even out.

  7. So this will be four losses in 5 games with three being in regulation. 3 points out of the last 10. Only three points ahead of the last WC spot with an extra game played. Fortunately the gap between the last WC team and the first out team is huge right now, with 8 points separating the two.

    We are still a very long way from falling out of playoff contention but losing four of five is as bad a stretch as we’ve had since the end of November. They rebounded after a few rough spells early in the year so hopefully this tailspin doesn’t last too much longer. COL is a difficult draw when you’re trying to pull out of a nosedive.

  9. I’ll be optimistic here, but I didn’t think it was a horrible period. Thought we looked better at 5v5 than on the PP, funny enough.

    Can’t fault Gibby too much as he’s been excellent, but feels like that’s two he should’ve had.

  10. Really a pretty even period except for a couple sick out of nowhere plays by their best-in-the-world players. 

  11. I don’t understand why Soda gets such limited minutes. He’s played really well, yes he hasn’t finished but he’s on a line with Ras who is on offensive black hole.
    I don’t understand it. Give him top line minutes.

    Also Copp isn’t a 2nd line center. Move Kasper back to that role and see if he does well now that he’s gained a bit of confidence back.

    OUR 5v5 numbers were atrocious with our current lines even when we were winning.

  13. The two things the ESPN NHL broadcast has going for it: great theme song and the intermission countdown timer.

  14. Lineup is too fragile with 1 key player injured. Show some sign of life Steve before these guys fall deeper into the feeling sorry for themselves phase.

  15. We ask for Larkin to play with Finnie and Kasper to help them produce, but can we throw the youngsters down the lineup where they may have easier deployment and where they probably belong and get Larkin a fucking legit LW to help Larkin produce?

  24. Even though Nate Danielson wasn’t scoring and frequently looked like an inexperienced rookie our flow, offense, puck possession, cycling, danger chances and overall healthy team continuity looked so much better with him on the team centering a line with Kasper and Soderblom imo.
