  1. Brown obviously did a lot of good work for the Pirates over two decades. He made a few huge mistakes, though, when he got desperate for a top-of-the-rotation starter. The Pirates during those years did an excellent job overall developing their own players before and after the start of the draft in 1965, particularly position players.
