[Gambatese] (Podcast) Where Do The Devils Fit in the Eastern Conference Playoff Race?

  1. We just need a winning streak, while our competition needs a losing streak. And without Jack

  2. They’re on the outside looking in, but maybe with a little luck they can pull off something amazing. Look what happened to Buffalo. They were dead in the water a couple of months back and they had a hell of a resurgence.

I’m not going to doom or say there’s no shot. Until I see that “e” next to them in the standings I’ll keep pulling for the team.

  3. When you have to depend on pretty much every other team in your division catastrophically falling apart for your team to have a good chance of making the playoffs, you *probably* aren’t making the playoffs.

I just hope they can use the rest of this year to work out the kinks in their system, and actually be a fast, scary team again for more than 6 weeks next year.

  4. They don’t. The season is over. Sell what you can for future assets at the deadline and stop this foolishness.

  5. We don’t without a major winning streak. 13-3-1 or something along those lines.

We also need top six help before the deadline.

  6. The islanders are the “worst” team in the east by points percentage at .602, good enough for 98 point pace. For us to get anywhere near there, we would need to go something like 19-5-4 in our last 28 games, good enough for .75 pace to reach 100 points when we’re currently at .537 pace on the year. We’re basically mathematically eliminated without it being official yet barring a complete collapse by a current team in the playoff picture. The east is pretty much set

  7. The east is garbage, regression will happen we will pobably improve while most will decline.

Playing without jack might be better than him playing post injury.. let some kids get a bigger opportunity and if they dont squeak in will only benefit them next season.
