Decent organizational depth. 30 years old, played in 60 games between the White Sox and Rays last season. Probably the first option as a stop gap if Wong or Narvaez got hurt.

Wong has one option left, and I can see Thaiss stealing the backup catcher job out of camp. He’s got some pop, and he’s not bad behind the plate, other than having a weak arm.
I’d still like to see them bring in Jonah Heim, and just move on entirely from Wong. I’m sure Heim’s holding out for a starting gig, though.
