The San Antonio Spurs just put the entire NBA on notice. In this video, we break down how this young Spurs squad made a statement in their win over the Rockets. Victor Wembanyama dominated on both ends, with help from Stephon Castle, Keldon Johnson and co.

brother….
Hey, just a quick heads up — I sent you a question via email when you have a moment. Would really appreciate a reply there. Thanks!
Rockets started really well, then Wemby started working on his Calandar…
I agree , it was more than just a normal win. Questions were raised. I hope the Spurs realise this has to be the foundation moving forward.
Same for Wemby , hope he learns to dominate from the inside out . Not the other way. Also Mitch had some better subs late. Harper 🔥
Loved that swat on KD late. Great D by Wemby and Castle.
Side note wonder if Wemby will ever add a sky hook or something to his game ? Will he get a signature move ?
First. I watch a lot of these video because I'm a Spurs fan. But can all these creators stop telling us the Spurs/Wemby "just sent the NBA a message," or "put the NBA on notice," or similar titles. It was fine the first 100 times to start the season, but we're halfway through at this point. I think the NBA knows the Spurs are a really good team, with a really good group of players. They also know the Spurs are a young team who will make some mental errors, growing pains if you will. By now, it's not a matter of if they make the playoffs, it's how far they'll go. Of course assuming the obvious "can they/Wemby stay healthy" argument. But that's true across the league.
How far do they go? 1st round? 2nd round? Conference championship? Even the Finals? Who knows? No one really. My feeling is no farther than the 2nd round. It comes down to playoff experience. But just like the Thunder, all it's going to take is this year to get that taste and from that point on it's going to be difficult to stop them.
OK, with all that said. Castle. That game, mainly the 4th quarter, he reminded me of Bruce Bowen. He was a pest on defense. I'd love to see more of that. Either from him or more of the guys on the team. It seemed like a switch was turned on for him. Or maybe I didn't notice the other 3 quarters. I can't recall seeing anyone on the team play like that. Not this year and not in a long time honestly.
The part about Wemby taking too many threes. KD wasn't the only one saying that. Lots of fans and pundits have as well. But maybe having one of his idols say that made it stick. The league in general relies on the 3 too much. Only one team has a Steph Curry. OK, Barnes is pretty good for us. Sean Elliott calls him Mr. 100%, but he's no "Baby-faced assassin" like SAS calls Curry.
Those critics R stupid to conclude we were soft? How da hell R we soft when only OKC N Pistons have a better record N we yet to reach our full potential….plus lacking a legit 3 N D cat. If we're soft then what that say about the rest of the league? Hahahaha Beat OKC 3 times bitches B4 call us soft.
Sounds like a issues solved when u play big body KJ out there on defense
That may be just a game but it was important for these young Spurs. The Rockets were bullying them and came out punching. The Spurs punched back and more. We fail to realize that Wemby, Castle and Harper, their future Big 3 are just kids. They must learn to punch back when they are being roughed up.
Keldon has been awesome. I think he could gain another 10 lbs and still keep his speed and twitchiness. It would make him even more of a bruiser. He would be our own version of Draymond but without the clownish immaturity and self-sabotage.
(Tell me you hate Draymond without telling me you hate Draymond)
This is one of the best sports videos I have ever seen. You had a clear theme, that San Antonio overcame their label as a soft team, and you built a story with a compelling script and outstanding video clips to support it. I was glued to the screen and hardly noticed that 11:40 had passed. Great job! Subscribed.
Edit: As a die-hard Spurs fan, I agree completely that this was a pivotal game, a watershed moment, for the 2025-26 Spurs. Houston is no joke, they are an outstanding team. San Antonio's ass whippin' by NOP was still burning their butts. This game was the moment where they had to decide who they are, and it started out abysmally. I only hope that this victory taught them lessons that will carry them throughout the year. They can be a Cinderella team on their way to the Finals if they can figure out how to keep repeating their second-half effort in this game.
Even as a spurs fan i'm annoyed at these title…
Spurs own OKC…they beat them 3 times in 12 days when OKC was 24-1, and 2 of those wins were BRUTAL ASSKICKINGS.. Spurs are bigger…faster…stronger…SUPERIOR to OKC. In a 7 game playoff series, Spurs will ANNIHILATE OKC…it will be over in FIVE GAMES.
HOT TAKES , GET YOUR HOT TAKES HERE !!
literally noone is afraid of them
After blowing big leads vs timberwolves and rockets big confidence builder that played them both 1-2 weeks after and beat them. Those big leads were no fluke
Straight traveling 7:48
Dylan harper has a chance to be the best overall point guard in the nba…
Wembanyama has a chance to be the best player ever…
Castle is an absolutely PERFECT match with harper and Wembanyama…
The best part?…
The Spurs are basically playing with house money the next couple of seasons until they have to let Fox walk in free agency
Then do what Michael Jordan did when the Detroit Pistons roughed him and the Chicago Bulls. Get in that weight room and bulk up with lean muscle and ask Michael. Was there a difference? Yeah, 6 NBA Championships in eight years. The little things do matter.
The rest of the team was already physical. Wemby was/is the one in question. He needs to stop trying to be a damn point guard and get in the paint where he belongs.
Remember before the start of the season when some fans would argue that the the Spurs being even the 6th seed was a stretch? They’ve been a consistent top 2-seed which is kinda crazy considering how young and inexperienced they are
GSG
Please Spurs trade for Giannis please!!!!!
Vassel, Sochan, Champagnie, Barnes, Jones, Olynyk, McLaughlin, Biyombo and couple of picks.
If that brings back "Bad boys Pistons" VS "Bulls" style basketball then good ! Modern day NBA is boring ! Also, what's up with the non-existent arena atmosphere ? You guys need to take a look at what we're doing in Europe !
Johnson is the heart of the team.
He couldve been a starter but he accepted a 6th man role.
