I feel like if Kirk isn’t down for a cheap one year deal, he’s out anyway. Mike Evans is good, but will be expensive to get. Also, I can list like four positions on the offense that the team should better focus on in FA and WR isn’t one of them.

didnt mike break his clavicle last year and only play 8 games and the year before only play 14 games cause of hamstring issues? only way we should is if its on a bargain deal so he can come home.

We have a negative in cap space right now and have more pressing needs to address in FA than WR. Plus we literally just drafted two rookie WRs in Noel and Higgins.
Mixon is likely getting let go instead of getting traded. No one wants to give up draft capital for an aging RB who hasn’t played a down at all this past season. Kirk is still serviceable and has a cap hit and well. CJ is still on his rookie deal and it’s just not smart to have him walk. Sure we won’t pick up his fifth year option but we aren’t going to cut him like that.
We have negative cap space – and we need IOL help in a bad way. And we shouldn’t try to find another diamond in the rough in the 4-8million range that then turns out to be subpar.
We are not a WR away from contending. We are OL away from being contender if you think Stroud’s terrible performance was due to OL and not him being mentally deficient.

We do need a “Playmaker” at WR. If we can get Evans for within the price range that doesnt compromise how we want to spend on our needs, then I’m all for it. We are banking on our young WRs to develop into solid players while fixing our O-Line. Which is cool, but we havent seen what they can become yet.
Wide receiver is a luxury right now.
Interior OL, TE2, RB2, DT2/3, LB2/3 are greater needs.
Yeah this feels like when I called out Nick Chubb for the team all over again. Although why would he want to come to Houston. Probably going to end up in Tennessee.
If anything the receivers were not a problem getting us past the divisional round but the qb that threw 4 picks with a passer rating of 28. 20/47 with less than 5 drops from the receivers, he was only sacked 3 times too so it wasn’t the oline letting him down. Why not go for Joey B since your only logic on getting an injured 33 year old is because he’s been to a Super Bowl Joey B did too

Would love to see Mike Evan’s in a Texans uniform but makes zero sense… we already have Nico and Higgins that are similar style WR. Kirk and Evan’s may both be WR but they essentially play different positions. And the biggest reason is Texans aren’t going to have that much cap space, currently they are projected to be over the cap. They need use what little space they end up with to improve oline, rb, or will anderson extension.

Since Mike already got a championship, him wanting to switch teams at this point in his career is silly. He will get the money he wants in Tampa and be an all-time Buc legend. He still will be to some degree if he should leave, but I’m surprised he isn’t taking the Fitzgerald approach.
