First and foremost, we know Eli is well deserving to make it into the HoF as Giants football fans so this isn't a discussion meant to flame on the reasons why he hasn't yet..
But I did want to see what some others felt when considering the names listed here (PFT provided list) and when Eli would/could be accepted… basically who makes it in before Manning. We're Giants fans and will have some bias so keep them in temper as best as possible plz 😄 and give it a legit look.
I feel Eli at least makes it in before names like Frank Gore, Jason Witten, Luke Kuechly and maaaayybe Larry Fitzgerald. It's the playoff and Super Bowl victories in their careers seperating Manning from this group for me, although all of their careers have statistical comparison especially with longevity.
I start to split a little more when we get to names like Terrell Suggs, Darren Woodson, a Marshal Yanda and maybe Jahri Evans. Mostly because of them playing positions outside of QB and the HoF accepting a variety of them yearly, let alone them being stellar players in their own rights.
Someone like Adam Vinatieri seems a little like the previously mentioned but I'd say him and Eli would have to go in at the same time if he were accepted. Players like Reggie Wayne and Torry Holt feel more like at any time they could go in with how long they've been out of the league and in nomination, etc.
Drew Brees is Drew Brees so like yeah man..
Hope that was fairly clear enough for everyone and share what you got. Again, relaxed discussion, he's not in now, may take some years but he's assuredly to be accepted at some point imho.

The main issue is his competition at QB. The Hall basically never puts in two QBs the same year, and we’ve only got other great QBs coming up in Roethlisberger and Brady. It could realistically be a few more years before Eli gets a good chance again
IF Eli get in, and I do think that’s a big if, it likely would not be until the end of this decade or the beginning of the next one. Eli’s entire case is based on the Two SB runs, longevity and counting stats. He really does not do well with advanced stats and at no point was in the conversations for MVP or even All-pro discussions. I think he eventually gets in because of how important those SB runs were, but all of other more deserving guys and rightly gonna go in before him.
Put him in either instead of Brady in Brady’s first year of eligibility (per the Belicheck Cheating Rule), or with Brady.
Honestly, I think the QB caliber for the next 4 years will make it tough.
Frank gore jason witten before eli…. seems back asswards
It won’t be for a while. There were to many great QBs when he played. On a side note, I can’t believe Torry Holt isn’t in yet. I knew the HoF was stingy on receivers but holy shit.
From this list only Brees and Fitzgerald are clear cut more deserving. The Eli haters in the other subs are driving me insane.
Don’t see how Brees gets in before Eli..
Fitz better be a 1st ballot bro is a GOAT
HoF process is so whacked out right now I don’t even know
Neither the coach with the most super bowls, nor the highest scoring player of all time, are in it. They’ve lost the plot and imo make these discussions pointlessÂ
edit: Eli should have been in last yearÂ
Eli is not gonna be before brees, kuelchy or vinateri most likely . But don’t forget this committee is not the smartest as shown by recent events so he could be snubbed many more times with people worse than him. Feels like he should go in with gore, maybe Fitzgerald etc
I would love to see Eli get in, but I am not positive that he ever will.
I remember when Ottis Anderson retired in 1992, I thought he was a shoo-in for the HOF.
He was 8th all time in rushing yards, 7th all time in rushing TDs, had 2 Super Bowl rings and a Super Bowl MVP.
As the years passed, Ottis did not get voted in, and other running backs have leapfrogged over him in the all time rankings.
Anderson is currently ranked 31st in rushing yards and 20th for rushing TDs.
At this point, I don’t think Ottis will ever get enough votes to get in.
I could see the same type of thing happening to Eli.
Brees and Big Ben both outrank Eli in passing yards, passing touchdowns and career wins. So I think they both justifiably get in before Eli.
Maybe Eli gets in after them?
I hope so, but I am not so sure.
Eli should be in before Brees imo
If Eli makes it
It won’t be for a while with the new rules and as much as we all love the guy his case is extremely borderline to begin with
As objective I don’t want to be about this
Eli did not make it to the finals in his second year. He is not getting in until he is eligible for veterans. How many guys get in after a few years of not making? Most of them only get in with Veterans committee. After 25 years you go to veterans committee and 1 player who retired 25+ years ago a year gets in.
The voters have made it clear with him not making it to the finals his second year. He is not getting in.
Fraudulent HoF, don’t care
He just needs to make it in before Bill Belichick. Would love for Eli to beat him one last time

Honestly, it’s really hard to even care about the Hall anymore. Bill getting the snub as a first ballot candidate questions the whole process
That list really is made up of so many possible HoF players.
Honestly I think best choice they could make Bellicheck, Coughlin, Vinatieri, Brady, and Manning all as one class (and hell throw Gronk on that class too)
Eli is going to need some activism to get in. Basically some hof voters will decide it’s time to vote for Eli despite others being more qualified because he’s been on the ballot for too long and they are sick of seeing his name there. Otherwise he’ll be in a continuous cycle of new eligible players being more deserving year over year. Maybe it’s a year where the new candidates are guards or CB’s like Marshal Yanda and Richard Sherman. Which is fine by me I don’t care either way. Year by year performance, he’s not a hall of fame player. But if you’re giving him credit for SB’s and his career totals, which are hof worthy, he’s in.
