[Charania] “The Warriors, Timberwolves and Heat’s framework offers to the Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo: Golden State: Built around draft picks, Minnesota: Built around players, Miami: Mix of players and picks.”

  1. The correct thing to do would be to go for picks and follow OKC’s formula, but the Bucks are notoriously bad at drafting so players are their best bet

  2. Based on that sounds like the bucks should want to tank and therefore go with more picks than players to maximize their draft position this year.

What they should do and will do is TBD but to me sounds like our offer could be less appealing if they’re trying to go all in on a tank job mid season.

  3. Jaden gotta be the best asset they’re being offered overall right? Just not sure how good the totality of our offer is compared to others

  4. I really don’t want us to lose Jaden. Although a guy like Giannis wanting to come to Minnesota says a lot about him and the franchise.

  5. TC calling trying to get 3rd and 4th teams in on the deal tells me that Milwaukee values picks more than players.

  6. Milwaukee having their pick tied to the Pelicans really hurts us. If they didn’t have a swap it would be beneficial to them not to tank.

Right now they have every incentive to tank because they may not drop many draft slots in the swap.

Hopefully Tim is persuasive in pushing them away from a rebuild if they truly want Giannis.

  7. A key thing to remember is if this Bucks front office actually does the Giannis for picks trade, they will get fired. Whether its this off-season or next, a pick heavy trade results in those guys losing their jobs.

There’s a scenario where since they don’t own their pick they just go for the six seed in the East.

Playoff appearances are the way the Bucks front office keep their jobs.

  8. It just doesn’t make sense with MIA. Obviously at this point, the trade is for next year and that’s when they load of up FAs and a weak East Conf, but I just don’t get why he would want to go there unless it’s also for the environment.
