  1. Julian check out college basketball this year. Insane freshman this year. All on good teams gonna be in March madness this year. I think it’s gonna set a good one and done culture again. Which Cooper Flagg started up again. I agree with Colin point about the G league

  2. I also think and additional “allure/marketing” company is Cooper Flagg being white. The last “great” white American player was Larry Bird. Whether this should or shouldn’t matter isn’t important, it automatically creates a wave of more interest as it’s not “the norm”. Will be great to watch Coop continue to grow and develop!
Also this 2025 draft class is already looking like it has a chance of being an all time great class!

  3. No, Luka could never be "face of the league" He cries to the refs, doesn't play defense, doesn't stay in shape, and is a ball hog. You think players like playing with Luka?

  4. LeBum never dominated shit he was in a weak east n joined super teams he needed better players to carry his bum ass you don’t know ball yall keep on with these lies you nerd. Kobe would have 10-15 rings in the weak ass east 😂

  5. I am not a Cowherd fan but he is right here and this kid with the $300 haircut is 100% wrong. The only reason there hasn't/isn't a true face of the league in the NBA is because they just haven't had a player that transcends basketball since MJ. Before that it was Magic/Bird. They transcended the game and became part of the culture for the "entire country". So did Jordan. In years past there were players who could have been that person. The NBA tried with Shaq… but he was too abrasive for a lot of people. Next was Kobe but you are always gonna have that sect of people always saw him as a rich, spoiled guy who got off of serious sexual assault charges because of who he was.. So he's out. For a while it seemed like there was a chance it would be Lebron but, it never fully materialized because just as many people dislike him as like him. He's just not likeable. Even recently; Curry couldn't be "that guy" for different reasons. It really isn't tru but the millions of fans who would relate to a "face of the league" have the attitude/belief that as great as Curry was/is, he was kind of a one trick pony. Unfortunately it was the trick those same fans wish would go away. The never ending 3's.. Curry also didn't have the personality or the "perceived" never ending competitiveness that is required for the person Cowherd is referring to. So… there have been people who had a chance to be "the face" and blew it for one of many reasons. The NBA has been in a severe decline for over a decade and this guy completely leaves it out of his logic. 100% those two things are related. Not having a player or players that fulfill this role is a big part of this decline. I think what Cowherd might have been driving at (and he may be right) is that Flagg arguably has a better chance to become that player that than any player since MJ. If the current trend continues. This guy has never lived in one of those eras or experienced what it is like to have an NBA star/personality who fully transcends basketball and becomes the true face of the league. It's never existed for him so he thinks it doesn't exist. This is a prime example of getting schooled on something you don't really know about but flapping your gums anyway. Long, long way to go for Flagg obviously….. but incredibly…. this has been the rookie season that (if someone ever does become the face of the league again) is required of THAT guy. I do agree about the matchup thing.. You have to at least have people trying to take them down. But honestly, that is secondary when you have one of those ultra rare unicorns. The league/networks/streaming platforms will "create those matchups" . Chicago/Detroit then Chicago/Knicks, Utah/Chicago.. Those were barely rivalries and nothing like the Boston/LA rivalries. Most recently the rivalry has been Golden State vs Whomever. The "matchups" will get created like they always have and as long as you have the right faces.. Regardless of the jerseys…. millions will watch and the league will be better for it. MJ never had anyone that defined the matchup he is pushing.. He just had manufactured "matchups". He had a series of unworthy usurpers who were more than enough to perpetuate MJ and the NBA into the stratosphere. If Flagg ever gets there… the "matchups" will be waiting. Just the opinion who has seen the league in both extremes and has been watching for 45+ years..
