  1. I’m not even mad. Losing games with this many people out makes sense. Take any teams top 6-8 guys on any given night and see how they do. You gotta think with the way this year went with injuries we should be clean next year? Law of averages🤷🏻‍♂️

  2. I’ll get flak for it, but this was not Bob’s game. I actually think we reach OT if not win outright if not for Bob this game. That 5th goal and the one where he completely left the net should not have happened and would have been stopped by a prime Bob or a different goalie.

    20 SOG, 5 goals… vs over 40 SOG with 3 goals.

  3. Tough loss. Season has been a real ass kicker. Even Ek said this was the do or die game of the season. Has to be disheartening to the guys to see the injuries stack up. But, on the positive, Balinskis is an absolute keeper for next season, Vilmanis has turned out to be a sleeper, and Greer is playing monster hockey. I think we trade Samo and some other assets and goalie hunt next season, Bob is tired and should slot into tandem for his last season(s) here.

  4. Oh you were a Panthers fan that thought it was rough to start the year missing $20mil in starting roster players? How about you get Tkachuk back and NOW they’re missing over $35mil in starting player cap hit?

    Jesus fucking Christ.

  5. They’re tired. Everybodys injured. Let’s just call it for what it is. These guys can use a full off-season to rest up and come back full force next season.

  6. Tkachuk before the game: “This is the most important game of the season.”

    Who’s gonna tell him?

  7. Goaltending has been so bad and the number one reason this season has gone south after injuries. They cannot get saves at key times, the goalies never win games for them, and they are demoralizing to play in front of. Defensively they were strong enough to win tonight but every mistake was a goal.

Gotta think this is Bob’s last year unless he signs for next to nothing for a year.

  8. I am an eternal optimist but things are looking grim.
But god damn you people don’t know how good you have had it. The winning formula depended on smothering the other team until they made a mistake; and if they somehow made it out of their d-zone bob would make an incredible save at least once a game to keep us in play.

Our defense is gone, and we don’t have shot creators like some of the other marquis teams. It’s all showing now.

But — for the love of god — stop blaming the goalie. This was the first game I can honestly say bob made a bad mistake, after how many games?

It doesn’t look good, but you never know. Most of you whipper snappers don’t know how good you have it. Been rooting for the Dolphins for FORTY TWO YEARS and I ain’t got shit to show for it

  9. This wasn’t Bob’s game, but it also wouldn’t have been Tarasov’s. We fucked up swapping the goalies out at horrible times. When Tarasov was looking great for several games in a row, we pulled him and he sat out for 5+ games in a row and then lost the edge he had as Bob was losing games in his place as well.

The injuries are too stacked against us now and we needed these next three games to be wins to take away from the top teams in our division. Unless they get incredibly lucky with the next couple of games or we get 90% of our starters back after the Olympics, we are definitely done for the season.

  10. I’ve officially reached a level of zen acceptance with Bennett going down. It is entirely possible we ice a roster on Thursday without a single center from our cup winning lineup.

You simply can’t recover from that kind of depth decimation to such an important position.

  11. I pray we don’t make any trades thinking that we’ll be healthy and make the playoffs. We need to let this season go

  12. Yeaaaaah we are probably gonna miss the playoffs. I am still very proud of how far we came this season given how much we’ve missed so many guys. I firmly believe we’ve got the best overall roster in the NHL for the next few seasons so let’s fucking go again next year!

  13. OK so this is the strat: call up all our prospects to see who we have for depth after Nosey, Marchand, etc. are no longer around, which also helps tank Boston’s pick. It’s genius!

  14. Too many injuries to feel bad about OUR team.

    Things happen.

I will NOT cry about it though, injuries are the byproduct of 3 DEEP Cup runs, which I will gladly accept!!!

The Cats WILL be better, healthy and hungry next year!

ANY team in the NHL would take a year like this in exchange for three seasons like we just had in Sunrise!

    Stay positive Cat fans!!!!

  15. i always say in all sports the real season starts after the midseason break. but its honestly been real bleak to watch majority of this season, and injuries just keep adding up. was hoping to go into the break in a little bit better of a spot. not getting my hopes up, but also wont count us out until were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention

  16. Well…..maybe going to the games won’t be so bad with all the fair weather fans not being in attendance

  17. This game was such a bummer. Ftr – I really don’t get the samo hate here – he’s like one of the few dynamic players we have out there. He’s clearly on a legendary cold streak, but people saying trade him and keep greer are absolutely nuts imo

  18. Welp, I think we’re done, just not our year.

Next year should be a lot better, and if we’re losing more ground with 10-12 games left, start shutting people down and come back ready for next season.
