When Nolan Ryan pumped in 85 mph HEAT at 63 years old

You already know what I’m gonna say
I want an old timers game, but with mound charges and fights.
Tbf he was still in the MLB up until like Age 49
That catcher definitely touched his own butt subtly to check if he shat himself.
No mask. No chest protector. No shin guards. Low fastball. Nice.
TBF he had only retired a week or so earlier
I miss that Ballpark.
Ball 1
Did that in loafers
The Rangers should’ve never left that park. Their new place is fine, but the OG Globe Life was only 25 by the time they left.
That’s gotta be closer to like 65 miles an hour, right? Where’s the numbers or data for claim of 85?
street clothes and shoes too. insane.
He was channeling young Nolan Ryan. Mostly because that pitch wasnt anywhere near the strike zone.
Good pitch but that is nowhere near 85
I want to see the timeline where Ryan just said fuck it and didn’t decide to retire after 1993 and instead kept playing until like 1998 when he’d be 50 just to pump his records up further like Jamie Moyer sticking around, even if he tore his UCL in his final career game IRL I don’t doubt that even if his value would be league-average or worse he could still throw at least 92-94 at age 50.
“Why can’t these guys pitch 300 innings? Nolan Ryan did it!” s/
I was at his last game. He hurt his arm, tried throwing a pitch, hit 100mph and was done.
My college roommate was one of the pitchers on our decent D1 team. In our late 30s he was going on how he still had it; got his glove out, and I watch that man destroy his elbow right then and there on the first throw. And the ER we went.
Would not recommend.

Pretty sure this is like 6 months after he retired though so
I would have taken that 60mph yard
Not to diminish this, but Jamie Moyer did that in an actual MLB game at 72 years old
Ball 1
Guy was an absolute menace
Ball.
in some loafers.
He was the same age in this video as Randy Johnson is today
God I miss that stadium…
The rangers old stadium always looked so cool to me
This was maybe 70 mph
No way that was 85, it was easily 102.
Legend!
Now rush the mound …and see what happens.
The fact that he never won a Cy Young award may be one of the craziest stats in baseball
65
He had zero hips into that too, that’s incredible.
More like 55mph
Hell yeah
Bro had to side dump the log that FB scared outta him into his shoe
I have my own more shitty video of this. Game 3 WS vs the Giants. Colby was great that day.
Anyone that has watched a major league baseball game should realize that this is not 85 mph lmao
