How the Texans FIX Their Offense This Offseason (PFF Scout Breaks It Down)
The Houston Texans have a franchise QB in C.J. Stroud — but the offense still has major questions heading into the offseason. What positions need upgrading? Is the O-line the real problem? Do the Texans need another weapon at receiver or tight end?
In this episode of Kickin’ It With Kunkel, I’m joined by PFF expert and NFL draft scout Trevor Sikkema to break down exactly how the Texans should fix their offense this offseason. We dive into free agency, the draft, scheme fit, and what Houston must do to take the next step toward being a real Super Bowl contender.
If you’re a Texans fan or just love NFL roster-building talk, this is a must-watch.

I was cool with Higgins and Noel because, if you forgot, we went into the playoffs that year with fucking John Metchie, Xavier Hutchinson, and Robert Woods. Tank and Nico couldn't be relied upon to be healthy. Also, Diggs was hurt and we knew he was gonna walk when he hit FA. So yeah, we desperately needed WR help and getting those two guys where we did was excellent value.
I think they resign him
i can't wait to see Tank Dell back on the field again this season. i also believe that CJ STROUD WILL be better next season. we need more help with the OLINE build around CJ STROUD. But i have the faith in the Texans
We really need to get a top running back. someone that runs like Barkley runs, Strong running back that can run Strong and fast
They are destroying Cj stroud i see that coming. when they came out back 2002 with David Carr they didn't build around him
i just joined the show
CJ Stroud: The S2 Theory Nobody Wants to Talk About
Pre-draft, Stroud scored 18% on the S2 Cognition test—bottom tier for processing speed, tracking, and spatial awareness. He brushed it off: "I'm a footballer, not a test-taker."
Year 1? Brilliant. Instincts, preparation, and a clean pocket masked any limits.
Years 2-3? Repeated head hits. Concussions. Slower to slide. And a historic playoff collapse—turnovers, missed reads, zero leadership presence, moping on the sideline.
Here's the theory: That low S2 wasn't a bad test day—it was his baseline. Elite QBs have cognitive headroom to absorb brain trauma and still function. Stroud started with less. Every hit erodes a smaller reserve. Now we're seeing the real him: slow processing, forced throws, can't track multiple targets under pressure.
The kicker? Backup Davis Mills ran the same offense better when Stroud sat.
Houston shouldn't pay him elite money. The pattern says decline, not upside.
🎯 Low baseline + repeated concussions = accelerated collapse. The S2 warned us. We just didn't listen.
This is or should be CJs LAST season if he continues to suck like he has been period. Next Session Is a hot QB rookie market perfect time to let him go if he does the same thing next year.
Far as olone yeah its an issue Tona of QBa performe better with even worse oline So NO excuses. Prove it or draft a new one est option DI NOT PAY HIM until he proves
