Twins: I think we’ve had enough of the Cleveland Guardians.

  1. 9 wins against the Braves, including a sweep of them as part of the 2017 AL record-breaking 22 game win streak. Crazy.

  2. We’re basically .500 against the Tigers, .440 against the Yankees (with a -1208 run diff), .534 against the Royals and Twins. We dominate the Os. .568 win percentage with 1160 wins, and a +1215 run diff.

Edit: It’s worth mentioning that before the creation of the AL Central in 94, we were a part of the AL East, which is why we have so many games against the Red Sox, Yankees, and Os. It’s also why we have a surprisingly large amount of games played vs the Brewers as they were initially an AL East and AL Central team along with us until the end of the 97 season where they went to the NL.

It also explains why it felt like the Red Sox were a rival to me back in the early-mid 90s. I swear I saw more games against them than any other team.

  3. twins/senators are the second worst of the original AL teams, after the orioles/browns

    1209-1052 vs twins

    1160-880 vs orioles

  4. What’s most impressive here is that the Twinkies have only been around since 1961, whereas the Tigers have since 1894 and the White Sox since 1900.

If they’re counting the organization’s entire history then the Twins history would go back to 1894 when they were founded as the Kansas City Blues and played from 1894-1900 and before they moved to Washington as the Nationals/Senators from 1901-1960.

  5. I always forget the Twins were the Washington Senators/Nationals. I never think of them as one of the historical old teams. I mean, The Twins and the White Sox didn’t even play in our division until 1994.

I would have bet money the most wins was against the Tigers. I choose to forget they just beat the everloving tar out of us for most of my childhood.

  6. The Twins were a doormat in the late 90s, at least it felt that way as a kid. “yes we’re playing that crappy team from little big league”

  7. What am I not understanding? Please politely explain. Guards have only beaten the A’s 9 times all time? I know that’s not right. Are you only talking after the name change? Still doesn’t seem right.
