- He says other centres like Thomas being available slowed things down on the Kadri front in recent weeks, but things have picked up again a bit now.
- He also corrects his previous report where he said MTL is on his NTC: he now confirms Kadri can be traded to Montreal without his approval.
On another radio appearance on the Nashville Sports Network, Friedman suggests the deal can get done if teams offer a combination of two of these 3 things: a good prospect, a good young player and a reasonably high draft pick.

Tij? Half joking
A deal with either Utah or Montreal would be phenomenal. Both have lots of trade capital that fits our direction and timeline, and if we could land Utah’s first this year there’s a chance they miss the playoffs altogether and it ends up being a pretty high pick
Fuck it Coleman, Kadri no retention on both for Tij and a 1st
how in the world would we get a 1st for kadri? basically a low-end top 6 forward with an albatross contract
Why are we hearing that kadri is “open to a move”
He only has a limited NTC, it doesn’t matter if he’s open or not.
please Nelson deal over “young players” in a hockey trade. We have evidence of both in Conroy’s tenure. Our amateur scouts are tops in the league. Our drafting is incredibly strong. On the other hand the pro scouting kinda sucks. The hockey trades and targeting of current players has ranged from mediocre to awful.
Would you trade Parekh for Tij?
I would be surprised if Kadri allows a trade to an American team considering the climate down south. A brown man on a working visa with a young family? That’s not something I’d be risking right now if I was in his shoes.
Dunno if it would be possible in a return for Kadri, but can we PLEASE get a blue chip prospect back in one of these trades?
Conroy has sold all these assets, but never once got an organization’s top prospect. Brz would be the closest and he was maybe 6th in the canucks system?
I wish I was in the right position to be a Grima Wormtongue-esque character in Utah.
“My lord, Tij for Kadri is *very fair*. The Flames have always been our most loyal friends. This is not the hour to question their generosity”.
Before anyone gets excited about Tij, remember that he is a 6th overall pick and was arguably Canada’s best player at the world juniors. He’s likely untouchable, or they’d make us give them Parekh+ to get him.
I think a lot of people will get very disappointed when they see the actual return.
Kadri had a good game last night but damn its hard to figure (among others. fuck sake) if his trade value wouldve been higher last year..
Logan Stankoven anyone?
I would be happy with Simashev and their 2026 first
Kadri for Tij one for one
IGGY! IGGY! IGGY!
You mention Utah is in the mix you know damn well who everyone is going to have in their crosshairs I feel like thats just bait
