This conversation was definitely to let Steve know whether or not he had to have a pre-game meeting before the game tonight, a la last year before the Jimmy trade. Doesn’t mean it’s not happening, just means it’s not happening tonight. I think Warriors are still in the best position to get him. They still have the best package, they just haven’t agreed to give up what the Bucks know they can ultimately get; and the Warriors are seeing if the Bucks will blink first knowing that their current offer is close to if not flat-out better than what any other team’s best offer will be. Obviously a lot is being said about the Wolves but they would still have to bring in another team in order to get the Bucks some picks and make their offer anywhere near competitive, but I don’t see anybody sending anyone any firsts for what would ultimately be role-players.
