Bears S Kevin Byard via CHGO Sports:
“I think I was one of the only guys he [Ryan Poles] brought up by name. It’s always good to hear your GM say that they want you back. Obviously I had meetings with him and Ben [Johnson] and they all echoed the same thing. I said the same thing as well. If all else is fair and equal, I’d love to come back to the Bears. The city and organization has embraced myself and my family. We had such a great year this year. I also said this in my interviews after the exit meetings. The hardest thing to do in this league is to get the quarterback and head coach right. I think that’s something that Chicago has so I think that window is going to be open for as long as it needs to be so obviously I would love to come back and play for the Bears.”

  1. I’m actually surprised this has taken Ben this long. I think he was caught off guard without a plan at OC when Declan left, which isn’t typical for him.

  2. We shouldn't hire Cliff because he will leave the very next season and be a head coach. I would rather get a young coach and let them learn. And we would at least get like 2 season out of them and maintain some semblance of continuity and consistency. I would hate to have a new OC every damn season.

  3. #Bears thoughts on Austin Booker and his development in the defense, I have a lot of faith in him and think he can be really good which causes me to believe we shouldn’t get a edge in the draft and instead stack up D tackles and I feel like drafting a young edge when he is on the team is just a waste, thoughts?

  4. you have to resign j brisk he’s just entering his prime after a 3 concussion season in the previous season! he turned up in the playoff game and really thrived when 6 and 1 are healthy.
