Miguel Rojas on players being denied insurance to play in the WBC

  1. I’ve got a good compromise.

If a player gets hurt playing in the WBC their contact can be voided.

  2. On the one hand, there does seem to be a bit of a double standard with the American players.

On the other hand, you’re doing business in an American baseball league with American businessmen and American insurance companies. It shouldn’t be surprising that they’re more interested in the American team being able to field guys than the other countries.

  3. This whole insurance thing is such a phrase. There’s barely different for a position player to player in WBC vs spring training. I can see restricting the pitchers more

  4. Aren’t the only people being held back by this either 35+ or have extensive injury histories?

  5. WBC politics wild af. Maybe US Japan insurance got secret sauce others lack huh? Classic favoritism vibes.

  6. Sounds like MLB’s version of a hard slide into second base, kinda messy and unexpected.

  7. Acting like DR didn’t get Vlad and Sotos massive contracts insured. Or Venezuela for Aunca off extensive injury history.
