  8. Hero of the game is my least favorite part. I’m sorry, I just don’t agree with really any of America’s military actions over the past 80 years or so. Feels wrong to cheer on American imperialism, even if it is just the pawns of said imperialism. Everyone stands up, and it feels awkward sitting down.

    I just think the “rah-rah” American pride BS has no place in the NBA

    Albanians view it the similar way – claiming it was theirs in the ancient times (bullshit imo but I am biased)

    were Serbian forces commiting atrocities there? YES
    (tanks running over civilians)
    were Albanian insurgents also commiting atrocities? YES
    (butchering civilians and selling organs)

    who began first? really complicated question which I am incapable to answer while being biased

    BUT

    was NATO legitimate to involve? ABSOLUTELY NO
    no member countries were attacked by Serbia (then Yugoslavia)

    casus belli was fabricated (“1000s dead in Racak” claimed by Clinton, while 23 reported dead, and all proven to be combatants, not even civilians etc – needed a distraction from Lewinsky scandal and for Hillary’s bloodthirsty appetite)

    hell, no war was declared at all, they just started bombing, I remember it myself

    TL;DR enjoy your respective continents and let’s keep it sportsmanlike

  14. I was at a hockey game outside the state last year and the hero of the game was someone that did “Detainee Services” at Guantanamo Bay.

  22. I remember a story our Christianity teacher (in Serbia, in public schools, there is optional class on Christianity. You mostly chill in it, it’s nothing serious, maybe a bit of talk about the current event/holiday, but that’s about it) in high school, who went to America for a trip and ended up on an NBA game, where, coincidentally, they paraded one of the veterans who bombed Serbia, as a hero.

    I took the story for granted, but started to doubt the story with time, thinking that just perhaps, he played into Anti US sentiment, even though he didn’t seem like that kind of guy.

    I don’t think that anymore, US government clearly loves their little loyal terrorists on demand.

    Piece of shit scum, I have zero respect for any self volunteering solider on this planet, those people need to get mental help and have their anti-social tendencies medicated away.

  24. I found this so bizarre and out of touch, and it was followed by Katy and Chris repeatedly clowning on the costumes of the Serbian dancers. I love the crew so much but I felt like they kind of screwed up on Serbian heritage night.

  25. Good thing for you Jokić doesn’t appear to be all that high on patriotism type of guy (though his brothers may be…).

    If I were him I’d demand a trade on the spot. Or, at the very least, I’d never try hard anymore, not more than 50%, on the court until I get traded or my contract runs out, whatever comes first.

    Some things are inexcusable. Mistakes can happen but this is nothing but a huge, painful mistake. You just don’t promote Bin Laden or his soldiers if it’s July 4 or September 11 and it’s USAian heritage night somewhere in the world.
