1. Friedl – CF
2. De La Cruz – SS
3. Stewart – 1B
4. Suarez – DH
5. Steer / Bleday – LF
6. Marte – RF
7. Stephenson – C
8. Hayes – 3B
9. McLain – 2B
That’s my guess. Batting order slots are up for interpretation.
Love this lineup
Is there a general consensus on Bleday ? When the Reds picked him up I feel like all I read was that he is ‘a guy who is going to hit 30+HR’ to now fighting for a roster spot with Benson.
I’d guess vs a righty-
CF Friedl
RF Marte
SS EDLC
DH Suarez
1B Stewart
LF Steer
C Stephenson
3B Hayes
2B McLain
I know this is outside the box, but think this may be what you see vs. a LH more often than not. Think Tito tinkers with the lefty lineup quite a bit though.
LF Friedl
RF Marte
DH Suarez
1B Stewart
SS EDLC
2B Steer
CF Myers
C Stephenson
3B Hayes
1. Friedl
2. McLain
3. De la Cruz
4. Suarez
5. Marte
6. Steer
7. Stevenson
8. Stewart
9. Hayes
Yeah yeah I’m sure I’ll get flack for McLain at number 2, but based on his whole career thru college and minors he’s been a solid contact guy with a fast bat. Shoulder injuries typically take 2 yrs before you see a bounce back to the back of their baseball card. I expect we will see him return to peak performance. Friedl is your number one guy, anyone who disagrees hasn’t watched him play. He will get on any way possible and is good on the base paths which screams leadoff. DLC at three most possible at bats with potential for damage. Suárez to protect and wallop hr’s. Marte was given a shot at RF because of his bat, he’ll continue to mash. Steer solid 6 or 7 hole hitter can great D with an average bat (tho for the joke he could be 9th as the caboose;) ) Stevenson, he’s been around there most the time why change? Stewart he’s a rookie, give him a slot to get AB’swithout the pressure if he earns a higher spot later time will tell. And Hayes well he might be higher if he could use his glove to get on base.
If we can get 2024 pre-injury McLain it’ll be huge. I’m hoping that his 2025 decline was a function of recovery.
This lineup looks so much better with geno in it for some slug and protection to Elly
Steer almost won a glove at 1b last year and everyone wants to move him to LF for a rookie with 20 games under his belt. I swear some of y’all don’t even watch.
