The Giants have hired Dawn Aponte to be their new Senior VP of Football Operations. Dawn is the real life inspiration for Jennifer Garner’s character in the movie Draft Day as explained in this article

  1. “They loosely based Garner’s character on former Browns employee Dawn Aponte (now Miami’s executive vice president of football administration).”

  2. In that movie they trade 3 second round picks and wind up with a running back and an off ball linebacker as two top 10 picks.

  3. That movie was so far fetched and goofy, I would be mortified if anyone used it as an example to introduce me lol.

  4. The new season didn’t officially start and John Harbaugh is already the most progressive voice the New York football Giants in history

  5. Kind of shitty that in the movie they had a female with some high position of power on the team and they had her have a relationship (and kid) with the GM, her boss. Like wtf

  6. In this movie they basically took an inside linebacker first overall and a running back in the top 10. Never made any sense why the movie treated him like he made some genius trades and saved the franchise when he could have just picked the RB with his original pick then trade up (he traded 3 seconds for #6 overall) to the teens to take the LB. Still not a great relocation of resources but better than what they had him do in the movie.
