  1. Not going to lie, pulling for Tromp with the way he’s been bounced around the past few years. Just good enough to stick around clubs, but not quite good enough to stay put. Would love to see him find that next level.

  2. I am excited to see these young pitchers get their opportunities. Martin Perez is a good pitcher too, once an All Star. Lodise and Gil have a shot at making the club with Kim out if one of them can show out.

  3. Braves be very high on Gil.

Baumann still lacks a 2nd pitch but you hope he’ll pick up something being around veterans.

Be nice if Lodise can learn from Hyers on plate discipline. Honestly, this is something that should be a huge focus across all levels of the minors cause it’s really bad for the most part.

  4. I was lowkey hoping Cam would get an invite just to hang around the group for a couple weeks.

I assume this year is just barely gonna be a touch too soon, but I also don’t think it’s a 0% chance he pitches an inning with Atlanta this season either. To be clear I don’t think it’s above 1%. I just don’t think it’s impossible.

I also think he will absolutely make his MLB debut before he turns 21. Which will happen in August of 2027 for clarity.

While it would take 2026 going damn near perfectly for him to break next year’s camp with the team. See aforementioned sub 1% chance while not being zero. I’d like to see him have a brief run out with the group just so next year wouldn’t be his first experience in that environment if this year does indeed go extremely well.

Mind you as an 18 year old in 2025, nearly 4 years younger than the average age in his league, these were his numbers.
    – Over his last 49 Innings Pitched
    – 67 Ks
    – 9 Earned Runs
    – 38 Hits Allowed
    – 1.65 ERA
    – 1.20 WHIP
    – 12.31 K/9

He is *special* special imo. That said I *still* don’t think there’s much between him, Fuentes, and Ritchie. Toss me in the camp that thinks Murphy is closer to that group than a lot of other people do as well.

I’m biased quite obviously. I still vehemently disagree with the general sentiment around our system. We could do with a few more bats, but I’ll take our upcoming arms against anyone else.
    – You have the obvious 4 I mentioned already.
    – Braun, Sinnard, Holton, Baumann, McKenzie.
    – Reyes, Polo, Bagwell, Lara, Kuehler.
    – Hackenberg, Burkhalter, Sears, Munoz.

I’ll go to battle with that group of young arms against anyone. Especially if I get to add Schwellenbach, Waldrep, and Smith-Shawver on top of the lot.

    – If one of the roughly 17 shortstops we’ve added to the system can come through.
    – One of Lodise and Southisene being the main contenders. Put me down for the former.
    – Alongside Baldwin behind the dish.
    – Tornes and Essenburg roaming the corners around Harris.
    – With Gil sliding over to 2B when the time comes.
    – And hey, maybe Perdomo will show why we dropped 5 mil on him during one of the IFA windows and man one of the corner IF slots.

Again, I think our system is in a better spot than a lot of other people do. It is still slightly better than a lottery at the end of the day though.

    We obviously won’t..
    – have 7 of the 8 positions filled by the above names.
    – alongside every rotation slot.
    – with a chunk of the bullpen mixed in as well.

    Let a man dream though.

  5. Excited to see Fuentes again against big league talent. Hopefully he’s shaken it off and his head is nice and right.

  6. Let me know when they have open tryouts. I was an excellent bunter in little league. The rest can’t be too hard

  7. There’s some potentially interesting veteran relief guys on the list. Chances are they won’t make a big impact, but maybe we’ll get lucky on one of them: Javy Guerra, James Karinchak, Elieser Hernandez.

  8. Man the position players look rough outside of Gamel, who will likely be picked up if he doesn’t make the opening 40.

I just don’t understand being so light there and why they’ve never really attempted to get solid position players for AAA, which has led to some awful records recently. You are an injury or two away and preparation is always key to get in front of that stuff.
