On This Day in Baseball History – February 3

  1. Your post reminded me of this Antiques Roadshow where a woman brought in a collection of baseball cards and letters from players who had stayed at a family members boarding house during a road series. They loved the food and accommodation so much that they sent some of the first ever team baseball cards with letters of gratitude. The players included the Spalding Brothers. The collection was valued over $1 million and it made the appraiser cry. Such a cool piece of history!
