Toronto Tempo’s limited-edition ‘Tempo 26’ Explorer jerseys sold out within minutes of going on sale Wednesday.
Fans flooded social media with complaints, saying the jerseys disappeared before they had a chance to complete their purchases.
The team says more jersey drops are coming as players begin to sign ahead of the 2026 inaugural season.
Did you manage to snag a Toronto Tempo jersey today? If not, you’re not alone, as many Torontonians say the limited-edition drop sold out in minutes.
On Wednesday, the city’s inaugural WNBA team released its ‘Tempo 26’ Explorer jersey for purchase, and warned that quantities would be limited. Fans might remember that back in December, the franchise unveiled the jersey designs, featuring the team’s colours – Borealis Blue and Tempo Bordeaux – along with the Tempo’s signature six speed lines.

But within the hour, the Toronto Tempo followed up saying that the jerseys were out of stock.
“Our community showed up – and sold out fast!,” the team captioned on Instagram.
Fans say jerseys sold out in minutes
Fans are expressing their disappointment in the Tempo’s comment section, many saying they missed out despite being ready to purchase when the sale went live.
“Had in my cart right at 1, website refreshed for some unknown reason and then had an empty cart at 1:02,” one person commented, adding that they’re also a season ticket member. “I hope you do more!”
“How do you sell out in less than 5min?,” another commenter questioned.
“As I hit to complete my order I got bounced because they were gone,” one person wrote. “Need a larger release knowing how big this fan base is!”
“Y’all I blinked and they were gone!!!,” another said.
A few hours later, the Toronto Tempo teased that fans had “set the tempo,” adding that the speed at which the drop sold out was “unexpected.”
“While we wanted to hold back jerseys for when our players sign, we want them in the hands of our fans first,” the team wrote on Instagram, and subsequently opened an additional limited sale for the jerseys, which retails for $159.99.
Toronto Tempo promises more to come
The team reassured that more drops are on the way as players begin to sign to the team, and encouraged fans to join its fan club to be in-the-know for future merch.
