  1. I have said this every time we bring up prospects for the past 6 months, but knock on wood we don't put TOO much pressure on him, Gil is going to be THE deciding factor for how the Braves move from 2027-2033.
If he busts out in the high minors and maybe even spring training this off-season suddenly you don't need to worry about someone like Kim going foreword. Suddenly your youth movement of guys like Gil, Baldwin, Schwellenbach, Smith-Shawver etc are looking just as promising as the guys who broke out 2016-18 that are going to start needing replacement. With veterans who are locked up like Olson and Riley at the corners, maybe the core looks DIFFERENT next decade. Maybe we are talking about filling holes at 2B and RF and DH instead of C, and SS and LF like we have with the old core. But it's just as promising. If Gil can make his way you're covered at catcher, shortstop, top of the rotation, maybe bullpen, 1st and 3rd base. Maybe CF if Harris can fall on the right side of the fence he has been sitting on between star and bust. But just having that spine up the middle of Baldwin, Gil and Harris could be a good offensive core to build around and Strider, Schwellenbach and Smith-Shawver can be a good core to build a pitching staff around and you are suddenly talking about a reload and not a rebuild, even if guys like Albies, Acuña and Murphy are not retained later this decade.
