[Gambatese] Latest Loss Should Seal the Deal on Fitzgerald and Keefe’s Fates

  1. Not even the whole game – the Dougie low-light with Bratt just coasting along should be all that’s needed to shit can the entire FO and get at least one if not both of those two traded.

  2. I will NEVER know why NJ saw what we did in 22-23 and decided we needed to get bigger, less skilled, and slower.

The D cannot get the puck up ice, theyre playing perimeter boring hockey, and not scoring. How they managed to completely remove everything fun after that season is beyond me. Why wouldnt you add more players who thrive off the rush instead of thinking we need a team full of slow dudes who cant score or finish a chance?

  3. Should it? Yes

Will it? If losing 9-0 on national television doesn’t, I don’t know what will.

  4. Sealing the deal should have been a couple weeks ago. Last night should seal the deal that anyone without protection is on the trade block and several players with protection should be asked for their 10 team no trade lists

I feel like the Fitzgerald should be fired convo has been beaten like a dead horse and it’s clear that Keefe’s system isn’t producing enough goals and chances and from his pressers he’s out of ideas. But the worst thing we as fans are doing is giving the top end players a pass on blame

Bratt simply isn’t shooting. I mean he’s played 20 more games than Jack and is trailing him in shots. Bratt has 120 shots and is scoring at a hair over 10%. By seasons end he’ll likely have 175-180 shots and for a player with his skill who has been over a PPG the last couple seasons that’s unacceptable.

Meier can’t score simply put. He’s actually taking shots, having attempted nearly 7 a game and even with his dismal 8% shooting he should still be on pace for about 20 goals but that’s not good enough. Combined with his scoring numbers all worsening season over season I think the Devils need to move on from him

Luke’s played 300 more minutes this season than Nemec yet only has 6 more points and 3 fewer goals. He’s made mistakes on his own end but doesn’t get sat or scratched. I don’t get it but he’s not the guy who’s going to be our 1D once we sell Hamilton for having a down year.

I look at comments online and I’m continually baffled how much blame and hate Cotter, Glendening and Dadonov get while fans give the player playing 20+ minutes a night don’t get any of the burden of the season’s failure and it’s frankly maddening.

  5. Fitzgerald had absolutely fumbled this season and last. “Wish and pray” is his method of managing.

  6. According to your recent post, if we had Quinn Hughes we would be contenders. What a laughable contention. This core is middle of the pack if not lower. This is why we need a new management to assemble a better core. It’s that simple.

  7. Again, what is this obsession with teams hiring former players as GMs? The excuse of “they know how to win!” should not be the only reason to give the key to a multi-million dollar franchise to some jock who knew how to skate.

Fitzgerald isn’t even a winner. He’s just some guy. He was a JAG when he played. He was the Luke Glendening of his time. What were his qualifications? He followed around Ray Shero like a pet dog?
