Bears reporter Marc Silverman via ESPN 1000:
“If the Bears are told at the end of February, and they get what they want from the state of Indiana, and they go to Illinois, and Illinois says, ‘We need more time,’…they will take their bags and move to Northwest Indiana. Financially, they are getting what they need [from Indiana]. The other side of it is they prefer the land in Arlington Heights and want to build there, but it would cost them $2 billion, which they are willing to do. They prefer that land and they prefer staying in the state of Illinois. But if by the end of the legislature session at the end of February, ‘wait we need more time or it’s a no go’, the Bears from what I’ve been told are gone.”

NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Bears’ OC search:
“In the building, if there is an option, Press Taylor would be considered to be an offensive coordinator candidate. He’s done an excellent job in several stops. Certainly someone who Ben Johnson will consider.”

  1. Who cares where the new stadium is built. I believe it's time for a new stadium for them. They have been getting ripped off for a long time. With a 100-200 mil tax bill if I was them I wouldn't want it anymore. Time for change.

  2. No snark
    I really don’t care.
I mean how much does it really impact me either way.

Be nice to have a great stadium and all the advantages etc.
But I don’t have State pride!!!

    Make your best deal.

  3. Democrats are destroying the great state of Illinois and Chicago. This is what you get when stupid people, vote for stupid politicians. Go to Indiana, until the politics politics change in Illinois and Chicago, it’s only going to get worse. Unfortunately Bears need to go Indiana. So stupid.

  4. We all know and would love for the Bears to knock down Soldier field and build a new stadium there I wish it was as easy as it sounds but not gunna happen 😩😩

  5. Given how Illinois politics go, I wouldn't b surprised if the Bears ended up taking Indiana's offer. This state has been poorly run 4 a while now, & honestly, the state can't afford subsidizing a private billion dollar corporation given our huge debt, massive unfunded pension obligations, & overall poor fiscal health. Plus Gov. Pritzker is trying 2 weigh a gubernatorial & subsequent presidential run & doesn't wanna piss off taxpayers/voters who r struggling w/ property taxes rn. Modern sentiment is pretty bearish on the public using tax dollars 2 finance sports stadium deals, especially given how wealthy these team owners r now. Even the Chiefs r moving bcuz the voters said no. It sucks 4 fans bcuz the Bears r finally good again, but it is what it is. I'd hoped they would've moved 2 Arlington Heights cuz it's a nice location. Kevin Warren overplayed his hand not fully understanding the political landscape here 2 get deals like this done. There's no wealthy Target heir 2 help "grease the skids" so 2 speak & push this through & 2 circumnavigate the taxpayers & get public subsidies 4 a stadium like he did in Minneapolis, & when he & Chicago Mayor Johnson (who has no real juice) went behind Pritzer's (who has the juice) back w/ the previous lakefront proposal, negotiations became frosty. Warren is under immense pressure 2 get this done. I suspect he will, but the Chicago Bears just might have 2 move out of Illinois. We'll c what happens 🤷🏾‍♂️
