My favorite path. Go try and win it.
I would love to be proven wrong and for him to get a mega contract with us but I don’t see it.
The only way letting skubal walk at the end of the season for a bag of balls was acceptable was if they pushed their chips onto the table and went all in to win a ring. Its been 42 years. Go get a bat and win the whole damn thing.

Win now! Learn from Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell’s mistake. WIN NOW! If Skubal leaves after the season, have him leave with a World Series ring or at minimum an ALCS victory!
Nothing wrong with trying to win in the now. But when seasons over and he walks we’ll all be sad and maybe a little mad.

Seems just as likely that they signed Valdez to fill the hole that would be made by trading Skubal
In that case, are there any other relievers we should sign?
If by “keep” they mean for the 2026 season and the he walks, that’s what I believe.
I don’t see them signing him to a new deal.
