  1. IDK, DK. I like having 2 goalies splitting games. Because of playing time, the rest of the team is used to either goalie and vise-versa. If Stu misses his rotation to work on his game, so be it. It is not punishment. At this point, you only call up for injury.

  2. 2 things, Sids hurt or laying back, next, I’m beginning to see why the Oilers traded Skinner! Both scenarios kinda stink, our Pens better be playing better or we’ll be back in the lottery hunt! 🖤💛

  3. Good morning Dejan, thank you once again for your show! There's been a couple of things about Chinakhov whenever I watch him that has me wondering a question and, until just recently, your opinion on since you've been watching hockey for roughly the same amount of time as myself. First, the question I have is…..have you noticed that Chinakhov may be in need of some development? Where I am referring is against the Islanders he had the puck around the left circle when his defender fell. He skated in, what could have been a small breakaway, and had Geno & Novak with him and one defender. SHOOT THE PUCK but he didn't. He looked like he wasn't sure what to do? Just one example of what I'm meaning. I think he's in the perfect spot as an NHL 'er early in his career who hasn't been developed very well before coming up. The second thing, and actually a question too, watching Chinakhov, how he skates, the way he does, there's been something familiar but I couldn't put my finger on what exactly….until now! Alexander Mogilny! Now, I'm not suggesting 76 is coming our way next year or anything lol but Mogilny had more of a hard engaging spirit on a loose puck, a chance to outskate a defender to get a play, and the want to shoot. With Chinakhov, he seems to not have that killer instinct, yet. But their shot, the way they both can pounce on a puck, and how both will glide around to find space for themselves in the offensive zone. Any thoughts? Blessings, Victor 🙏

  4. Thank you DK. I noticed top line as of late on my part, has not been as good, on the other hand the defense has improved. I find it interesting to say the least. Great show DK

  5. From the start of the season the whole basis was to create a competition for the net, try to move Jarry to make room for a call up to give the youth a chance. Suddenly a trade is made, Skinner comes in and has a nice little run and everybody thinks we acquired Andrei Vasilevskiy and starts chanting "WE WANT THE CUP." The Penguins go on a little tear and everybody thinks theyre the greatest team on ice but cant pull it off against the Isles or Sens. If youre sold on this team completely, good for you, ignorance is bliss but they have alot to prove. They might not be the same team as years past but I recall a team named them Pittsburgh Penguins missing the playoffs by a mere handful of point in multiple years past.

  6. Sid and Rakell have been losing way too many one on one battles…Sid may be hurt or saving himself but he looks slow to me out there too often

  7. Hey DK, I'm glad you finally did a show about the top line 5 on 5, as a fan, apparently I am not allowed to have this same observation nor talk about it. Anytime you mention Sid and frankly Bryan Rust and call either one out, you really hear back from the mob. I just don't understand how the fanbase doesn't see it how bad they are as a line, or don't want to see it improved? I think over the last five games I have commented on here about the first line so its not like I'm jumping on the bandwagon. But I kind of see it a little different, lets make them understand. Think of video games, and back in the day Sid was rated a 96 and played with Kunitz (82) and Dupois (82), now……..Sid is a 90 with Rust (80) and Rakell (80). You watch Sid at Milan, it will be like the Worlds and Four Nations, surrounded by legit talent, he will be amongst the offensively leaders of the tourny even with MacKinnon and McDavid there, and look rejuveniated. At 38 years old, he is still one of the most dominant players in the NHL, but 5 on 5 he now needs some help and he's not getting it. Simply put, line one isn't good enough…..video game numbers don't lie, lol.

  8. Connor dewar most likely. He mimics puck retrieval like hornqvist. But his sample size would be small. No one really has clicked. Even at times I’ve watched 5on5 with rust and think “whoa their lines are crossed”

I’ve notice Sid’s line be less and less dominant in advanced stats since guentzeL left. No offence to rust he doesn’t think the game the same. And rakell is great but same doesn’t have the same instincts. Good take DK it’s been noticeable Sid’s line not driving play 5 on 5. It’s been a progressive decline in my eyes since guentzeL left.

  9. No matter what Skinner does the rest of the way the Pens can't afford to over commit to him. His track record speaks of inconsistencies. He can get hot for stretches and he can also look like the worst goalie in the league for a month straight. If he plays his way into a renewal, I don't want Dubas to sign him for more than 2 years, and only as a 1A/1B guy. He hasn't proven his ability to be THE guy at any point in his career. Anything longer than two years and you're looking at high risk of hating his contract the same way fans hated Jarry's deal. I hope that Murashov can be THE guy. It would be great if it were next season, who knows? But if not, Skinner is not the savior. So please don't pay him like one.
