  1. Really hope Larkin doesn’t go out there a look like a beast for US cause it’ll only prove one thing, and that’s that he’s not been injured but just has not been playing as hard for the Wings as he can.

  3. It would be nice if Larkin acknowledged that his lack of discipline led to the 5-on-3 that ultimately dictated the flow of the game. He's made some dreadful mistakes in recent weeks and I'm not seeing the accountability.

  6. and the teams behind them in the standings are catching up it also looks like the usual fall off they have around this time is right in schedule. 25 games left after the break and we shall see if they choke again and miss the playoffs or will they get it together and end the streak. If Yzerman doesn't make a move then he probably still thinks this team isn't a playoff team.

  8. Larkin starts strong then falls apart mid season – all 10 years of his career.  a real leader steps up when the team needs them most.  no resilience – not captain material at all

  15. I think everyone needs to relax, you don't win every game. They out shot Utah and just came off a tough game in Denver. The team is tied for second place, they're going to be fine.

  26. Yzerman needs to do his job or vacate the GM seat. You are not entitled to the job forever just because you were a good player. Time for results.

  31. This is a game we should have won. You look at the schedule and take a look at the teams, this should’ve been a win. These last 5 games have been awful. Just shows you how important Edvinsson is. Our 5×5 play has been atrocious all season. Now we’re not scoring on the PP. I expect Larkin, The Cat, Kane, Kasper and Raymond to play a lot better 5×5. This is bullshit. If Larkin wants Yzerman to trade for help then Larkin is going to have to prove to the front office that trading blue chip prospects will be worth it. This is unacceptable. Where the hell is our bottom 6 forwards? Why isn’t Kasper producing? We desperately need to make a trade for a top 4 defenseman and we desperately need a top 6 forward. Because clearly Larkin isn’t capable of preforming 5×5. We played Utah..UTAH last night. It’s not like they are a dominant team. We made them look like fucking Stanley Cup contenders. I’m so sick of the platitudes and excuses. We have a bottom 6 that can’t sustain any pressure in the offensive zone. The only D man we have that is above average is Seider. He can’t do it all by himself. Losing Edvinsson proves just how shit our defensive corps is. They should be ashamed of themselves for this performance. I’m a patient guy, but right now I could kick a kitten through an electric fan. Steve, you have no choice at this point to make a move because our top guys are incapable of 5×5 play. Hope they enjoy their time off, because if this team comes out of the break and collapses? I won’t be renewing my season tickets. This is just unacceptable.

  32. Passing was so bad this game. Also, where has the confidence in offense gone? Constantly held to the boards and taking shots from low-quality areas with no net presence for rebounds. Guys, GET TO THE MIDDLE OF THE ICE. We continue to dump pucks in and frequently there is no one on the way to retrieve and the puck comes back out just as fast as it went in. Forecheck has gone soft again (it was decent for a bit there before the previous 5 games). Powerplay has completely dried up and passing up numerous opportunities to shoot from just above the hash marks. Get it to the net!

    Hopefully this break is what everyone needs. Yes, we've played a ridiculous schedule but everyone else has too. A mini-camp is exactly what this team needs. Better get dialed in because the Atlantic is a slaughterhouse this year. Good luck to Larks, Mo, and Razor in the Olympics.

  33. I was at the game and you could clearly see that one team came to play and wanted the win, that team was not the Wings. Lots of giveaways slow lethargic play pour passing and trying to be fancy instead of crashing the net. It was a very sad game.

  34. Gibbie was asleep for the first like 10 minutes. Whole team was pretty lethargic and communicating poorly through the first and most of the second. Refs and linesmen were AWFUL (incidental contact wtf?, Larkin's faceoff stick to jewels, etc). Played a bit in the third but not enough.

    Hopefully the break helps. We need to find consistency in scoring, energy, effort, execution, and teamwork. Need to stop dump chase, and dump change cycles. Our off zone possesion vs op off zone possesion is some of the worst in the league.

    They can play good enough to beat anyone, but they have trouble bringing that every night, and every period. A lot of times they seem to try and play only as good as they think they need to for the team they're playing as well.

    Trades aren't gonna save us, we already missed hughes, and panarin. Nothing else is really up for grabs for what we need. We have enough when healthy, and playing right though.

    Hopefully with Edvinsson back and the team rested, we can stay healthy and find our consistency again. Otherwise we can still find ourselves falling out of the playoffs.
