As a diehard Lions fan, this analysis was spot on. Great job. Go Lions!
Hey FA,
As a Lions fan, great video as always. I think their biggest issue is the o-line and not being able to protect Goff. It doesnt matter if your QB is mobile or static, no o-line won't allow any action. LaPorta and Gibbs rookie contracts coming to an end in the 2026-27 offseason doesn't help. I would say the goal for 2026 would be NFCCG at least or someone is getting fired. I also believe Goffs contract was restructured a few days ago but i could be wrong.
One thing I would've loved for you to talk about their OC hire. I personally don't think Petzing was a bad hire considering his work with TEs/RBs and tbf he didn't have a lot to work with in Arizona. Mike Kafka as a offensive higher up was a good hire too seeing he ran that play with Jamies Winston.
Did someone challenge you to see how many times you could explain that degenerative means that it will get worse in a single sentence
It may be that the Lions need to trade a valuable player like St. Brown to save money and reload in the draft. They can't afford everyone forever.
Thanks for the video bud! Great work as always
Lions “were” good. Qb is older. 58% of team in 2026 is new.
I’m a casual football watcher but it feels like the NFL is going through what baseball did post-Moneyball. Analytics, advanced stats, etc. has proven to be effective, and now it’s no longer just roster construction (which tbf to football, is harder because of more intangibles), it’s now affecting coach decision-making. Almost to the point where it’s almost detrimental, each sport at the end of the day is based off its fundamentals, going “full analytics” doesn’t work, even for baseball. Sometimes you just gotta take the points, analytics & data may not account for a QB just not feeling it that day, struggling to get the ball down the field or getting it across the goal in the red zone.
I believe in Dan Campbell, not just because he’s a former player (which of course is the biggest barometer of if a person has “feel” for the game), but because he’s shown he’s a good people person, he motivates and gets the best out of guys. I think he’ll eventually “figure out” the balance between advanced stats and just “old-school” thinking. The question is, whether or not he’ll figure it out soon enough to where he’ll still be in Detroit, or they (eventually) get tired of him and move on from him at HC.
This next season should be Super Bowl or bust for both Campbell and Holmes, but unfortunately due to the teams history of failure, I could see Campbell being kept past this season and Holmes being the fall guy if they do not make a deep playoff run.
The Lions are Jobbers. They play the role of the team that gets shitted on in the National Wrestling League. There's a reason the AFC champion has produced either Chiefs, Patriots, Broncos or Steelers over the past 20 years. Some teams are never going to win the SB. It's not in the script ! 😂😂
I think I'd bet my life savings on "never"
Bro, Brad Holmes WILL NOT spend money on Trey Hendrickson.
It seems like he hates paying anyone he didnt draft.
Joseph having a degenerative knee condition is poetic justice from the football gods.
Don't think we have seen them with a fully healthy defense…maybe if they had their full defense or close to it for 90% of the games.
You should make a video about who every team should sign in free agency
The other concerning thing about Gio Manu that most of your viewers wouldn’t know was he was drafted out of a Canadian Usport school. Drafting a CanWest player to compete with blue chip elite SEC talent is abysmal process and that’s coming from a Canadian viewer. There’s levels to this sht and every rational Usport athlete will tell you that.
Hendrickson or Crosby across from Hutch would be an elite white boy duo
One thing I think you missed out on talking about was just how huge of a hit having Frank Ragnow retire at his peak while arguably being the best center in the NFL at the time was. It really scrambled the interior of the offensive line
Terrible O-line is really where it all started. The week 1 Packers game exposed that. We need serious help in the trenches.
I think the Lions will rebound nicely as issues from the 2024 season lingered on, so it was going to be a down year, and even then, 2 games was the only difference. Better to finish last with a higher pick and an easier schedule than to have been one and done like the Packers. I think the Vikings and Packers are in worse positions. Vikings could be in the SB right now had they kept Darnold, and Packers won't have a 1st rd pick until 2028, thanks to the Parsons trade.
Despite all that, it's all up to Holmes & Campbell to address these glaring issues for once and stop pretending. D Line, in truth, hasn't been good since the Suh days, secondary is now questionable, Decker will likely be gone, and IOL is now a major weakness. Wasn't very smart to be using a 3rd for Carlton Davis, only to then release him and now balling in the SB. They could be the next Seahawks of 2026 if they for once stop ignoring the issues and also learn to take the DAMN POINTS.
Can you do this same video but about the Bengals
no one in the media talks how ever since making the NFC championship they regressing and this year missed the playoffs. I think their window is closed at least for this group and honestly was over once they had to replace Ben Johnson.
Lions really should went all in on getting Mike McDaniel
I like how lions fans always use a graphic of showing how much the lions got for trading Matthew Stafford and saying oh it’s a win win or look how much we got, it don’t matter you haven’t gotten a ring and you missed playoffs 😭😭 we won that
That was good, but it still doesn't address corner.
Hello, why do you spent so much time of the video of the last drafts? Do you think they are the most important thing for a franchise to be successful? Don't you think that the defense is the biggest problem of the lions? How do you like the performance of the new oc and dc in this season? Did they should fire and hire a new dc? Why is their time running out? You think they cannot keep all of their stars on the roster?
Milo gotta be engage baiting at this point, that or he’s.. inhibited 😂
Sean stays putting out heat
Great video. Only disagreement is Zion Young being a Dan Campbell guy. Zion was one of the instigators in the infamous "Tunnel Brawl", between Michigan & MSU, & was one of the players cited. Hence, not a Lions guy, imo.
They need an answer for both Parsons and Van Ginkel, IMO. They also need more picks like in 2024, which should come if/when the starting safeties are healthy.
Fuck Amon 😂he don’t deserve nun
The lions have like 5 or 6 more years of relevance easily with this roster
And with MCDC and Brad Holmes, its hard to be believe that will change even then. They are building inevitability
Brad holmes is TERRIBLE he had one good draft classes maybe two he's done nothing in free agency and nothing in the preseason while doing NOTHING in the last 2024 and 2025 draft
imma miss watching my dawg bb play man
Man you like advertising gambling lol
Do top 10 Purdue QBs
Thank you for making me sad and giving me some optimism in the same video
Mannnn stop this non sense, we finally start win and guys making videos like this!!! Dan is a great coach, I’ll be damn we lose him like and head back into the dark ages
As a Cards fan, I am baffled by the hiring of Drew Petzing. His biggest flaw is that he never could adjust past the first half and had a consistently predictable offense. He also could not figure out anything once the run game disappeared.
Lions fans, I think Dan Campbell will take over playcalling again at some point this season. Drew ain't it.
Should Detroit Lions trade for Maxx Crosby with first round and second round 2026 picks?
I think something unique that could happen with the Lions is the type of players they had gone after. Unselfish, willing to do whatever it takes to win, which will make it easier for contract restructuring.
I can’t recall a time in the NFL when you got a ton of guys who took pay cuts to bring in other players that could help them win but it did happen with the Red Wings back in the 90’s
spencer fano, the man mocked to go 3???
i know it was a special quote bei dc after the championship game against the niners… its gonna be in dreams forever. Im telling my grandkids this story …
Corners can take a little more time to develop
As a Bears fan I don’t dislike the Lions. I hope both the Lions and Vikings understand who the true enemy of the division is…..
