  1. NFL better be handing over some picks. Clearly the Falcons have done some contract mumbo jumbo to fuck us over.

  2. Bears have got to make a stink about this situation to the league, I mean what the fuck man ?

  3. The Bears better kick hell of a fit to get those third round picks. Completely against the spirit of the rule.

  4. Is there an appeal process or something for the comp picks? I mean this is just stupid, what is the point of the rule if you can just do this

  5. It def seems shitty that we don’t get comp picks. The rule is supposed to reward the previous team for minority growth and subsequent advancement. Ian is advancing from Assistant GM to GM. I don’t understand why it would matter that there is a Pres of football ops in place in Atlanta. I literally never heard of that being an issue until now, with the Bears.

  6. The 32 owners run the league and make the decisions… will not get a comp pick forget about it

  7. Given the spirit of this rule, I think the league is gonna give us the picks.

Otherwise, they would be saying they recognize the white guy with ZERO front office experience as the real GM, meanwhile the minority hire with several years front office experience who will be doing the actual job (per the white guy) is not the real GM. If they don’t honor the spirit of the rule in this case, it really is an old boys’ club that penalizes minority advancement.

  8. i admit i thought this was initially overblown but no fucking way with this. his ā€œbossā€ is unapologetically saying ian is in charge of the draft and free agency and admitting he himself has never been a part of that process before.Ā

  9. Given the NFL hasnt said a word yet on compensatory picks do we even actually know or has every internet sports douche with a podcast just ran with the first thought that popped up.

  10. given how poorly the Rooney rule has worked out in developing minority head coaches this offseason (and even before then), I feel like it would be an awful look for the NFL to withhold comp picks. Why do anything to disincentivize your end goal based on a technicality. You want teams to learn the lesson to second guess letting their guys take interviews if there’s any question it might not result in comp picks?

  11. Everyone needs to chill out, for now. Comp picks aren’t due until March. I’m sure the Bears have submitted something behind the scenes and it isn’t 100% final yet

  12. Poles knows he can’t pick for shit in the 3rd round so the comp picks don’t mean anything to him anyways

  13. We’re not getting the comp picks.Ā
Cunningham’s move is a lateral move, that’s why Atlanta had to ask permission.Ā

Why the Bears gave permission is another question but in doing so they basically forfeited any right to comp picks.

  14. What I don’t understand is why Kevin Warren wouldn’t be considered equal to Matt Ryan in this context. It’s not like Poles has the authority to just do whatever he wants.

  15. The fact that no black coaches were hired out of TEN NEW COACHING HIRES and the one team that progressed the career of a young black executive weren’t given the promised compensation of the rule that was created for this very reason shows that the league is unserious about the rule.

    What a joke.

  16. I think the funniest thing about this whole situation is that the NFL literally hasnt commented on this at all. No one official has said the bears aren’t getting picks.

I truly believe everyone has their panties in a bunch for no reason. We will get the picks
