Rashad is highlighting how these teams are able to control the narrative and lower a player’s value once the player and team no longer see eye-to-eye and decide it’s best to part ways … if there’s bad blood between a player and a team, that team isn’t going to go out of their way to help the player get to a “better” situation , they’re going to make it difficult for you.. so in Cam’s case, since they couldn’t find a trade destination that both sides could agree on , they just waived him.. They could have kept him, but why would they give more money a guy who they have bad blood with and doesn’t want to be there ? Their power move is to just release him in the middle of the season , and have guys like Gil and Kenyon assume he must have a bad attitude or something , and that he must not be any good if he got waived.. that’s the whole point of waiving him.. and now other teams can sign him for Pennies on the Dollar

In 2023, we seen a franchise player almost get waived for his attitude/behavior on and off the court but the GM and President elected to suspend him instead and explore trade options for the last few years. This player has been suspended at least once every season since then and still has the same attitude.
Cam Thomas was not a franchise player but he was a good player on a horrible team. He should've ranked number 1 in all offensive categories (pts, asts, fg%, ft%, 3P%) but all he wanted to do was worry about HIMSELF more than the team.
