  1. All of this to pay the 2x Cy Young home grown guy:

    $10M less than Zach Wheeler

    $5M less than Degrom

    $4M less than Cole

    $4M less than Snell

    $3M less than Burns

    $3M less than Cease

Chris Illitch will regret his actions when he is old and frail. His father Mike is disapointed in his actions.

  2. Eh. I have no feelings good or bad about it.

Happy for someone to earn money, but I hate the way Boras handled this on behalf of Skubal.

Regardless, we’ll have one of the best rotations in baseball in 2026 and tht’s something to be happy about instead of worrying about other people’s money.

  3. Alright. We are all in this season. Ready to take on the billion dollar club known as the Dodgers

  4. This is truly much ado about nothing boras always wants to take his big guys to free agency this is no exception. They just had to go through the motions for this one.

  5. Great news and worth every penny. Laughing at the but $19mm is the highest offer ever people

  6. He deserves it … Let’s sign him to a seven year $350M contract and be done with it

  7. Tigers are nearing the tax threshold for payroll salary. Tigers highest payroll ever this year.

  8. I don’t think we’re trading him unless the season is a disaster.

Us being cheap was a decent working theory…until last night.

Now I don’t see Illitch really giving two shits about a 13 million dollar difference in payroll.

  9. What do we think about Rogers at catcher this year as a backup? Is he staying healthy enough to be the everyday backup yet play enough games?

Any way we can improve there?

  10. Regardless we still had him for next season. From a business standpoint would have made sense to pay him the 19 and save for more pitching. A happy pitcher is a better pitcher though. Illitch has to open his checkbook lol
