  1. oh man the possibility of getting both if Trey Hendrickson hits the open market, bears have to fix some contracts to free up some cap space, and the bears have the draft picks available to possible get Maxx Crosby.

  2. In regards of the comp picks it really depends on the wording of the contract Ian Cunningham signed.
Chances are the Bears will get the comp picks but really depends on the contract.

I am not upset at Moore either… plus it's a split-second decision made by two individuals on the fly.
He pretty much clinched 2 or 3 games this season otherwise.
Moore is still the best and most consistent receiver on the team and was underutilized during the season.
He also gets open more and dealt with some toughest ball placement this season as well.

  3. I appreciate Matt Ryan saying this, but what's written in Ian's contract? Would think that's what the NFL is basing their decision off of?

  4. What's DJ going to say bro. He was playing hurt. If he said his head wasn't right but had to be out there then Bears would be in trouble for letting him continue to play. So of course EVERYBODY said "mis communication "

  5. 100 percent cannot take on Trey Hendrickson and for sure Mac Crosby. Also, didn't restructure any contracts. We've seen this act before. Draft well and build through the draft. Get rid of Edmonds and Moore to free up some space.

  6. Ok… Guess what Kieq, they’ll just restructure contracts on 27 and on and on. You’re making seem like 26 is the only time they restructure contracts. It’s not a big deal

  7. Making this a team/culture where players want to be regardless of money also helps the cap as they essentially take a “pay cut” or less money to play somewhere they love to be. That’s how coaches help the GM with the cap, so having the right coach helps in more ways than one. 🐻⬇️

  8. The problem with the NFL and the runy rules that they're using outdated terms in definitions for what a primary football executive is a president of a company, not in football. But the president of like ACO of a company runs the company. But he has generals in part in charge of departments for him. They're using that definition, implying to the football part of it. Where Matt Ryan's the president, which means he's the general, he tells everyone what to do. That's not what he's job is. His job is to be a bridge between ownership and management. A buffer in times as well, so they're using outdated business lingo and applying it to the to Ian Cunningham's new role. I agree with the person whose comments above mine. That also depends on the contract, but if Ian Cunningham has roster control, that's a promotion. And if and the n f l has no problem reexamining the situation saying, oh, we were misinformed or we misunderstood this could be a way they salvage the spring because they already fumble the football with not putting coach bella shack in the hall of fame

Bears Expected to Lose Out on 2 Draft Picks if Executive Poached
The Chicago Bears will not receive compensatory draft picks from the Atlanta Falcons for hiring assistant GM Ian Cunningham, according to reports in late January 2026. While Cunningham was hired as GM, the Falcons' hiring of Matt Ryan as President of Football Operations means Cunningham is not considered the "primary football executive," failing to meet the NFL's strict requirements for draft compensation.
