Has to be named D captain
A little while ago a Saints fan posted some podcast video where a former player was talking about Aaron Glenn and how he knew the Jets were in solid hands despite the losing. He echoed a lot of that same sentiment that Philips did.
What’s going to change next season? He diagnosed the problem…that doesnt mean Glenn is suddenly going to turn into a good head coach and somebody the players believe in. If they stink again next season, players will know Glenn is a goner, will start checking out, and the bad attitude and toxic environment will persist.
I wonder if he’s met woody yet…
Appreciate his comments, but the fact remains we’re in a division with 2 of the best teams in the league and our coaching staff hasn’t proven they can be above average yet.
Undooming the doomers.
Doesn’t matter people will always hate no matter what if Glenn has a winning season next year people will still want him gone
ELI5: who is that and what did he do? “Step off of the ledge” sounds like a bad thing
4-13
I mean yeah – Joe Douglas set this franchise back a decade – I’ll be intrigued to see the NFLPA report card this year now that the cancers are gone
>Describing what happens in a losing atmosphere, Phillips said players get distracted “because my coach is going to get fired, my teammate’s going to get fired, I’m going to be a free agent, I might get fired, I have to play for me, I have to make sure my tape is hot regardless of what the system is asking me to do, what the scheme is telling me to do.
This one sentence explains *so much* of 2025 it’s crazy.
Some context would be nice.
Lmao you think the Jets have a ledge?!? They have even built the floorboards yet!
Wait, step off the ledge OR step back from the ledge? I hope it’s about the latter. 😂
Just remember the bills have zero superbowl wins in their history.
If he resigns he needs to be our captain
Really eye opening he basically said all the vets were toxic and needed to go. Q and Sauce didn’t seem like the type but that much losing does a number on your mental
I’m grateful that he mentioned all of these things, but I’m not entirely sure what we’re supposed to do with them. Maybe nothing.
We root for a team and we want them to win. A lot of people in the locker room became toxic because the team always lost. As fans, there’s nothing we can do to fix that.
The only thing that will turn this around is winning. Yes, it may make us understand a little bit more, but at the end of the day saying “a lot of people on this team used to have shitty attitude, so they’re not on the team anymore” does explain last year, but it isn’t really going to make us feel better about watching team that could get four or five wins again next year. What he is validating is that this reset was necessary. But I would also venture a guess that if Justin Fields came in here, did great, and we won 10 games last year then all of that negativity would’ve likely evaporated.
I 100% thank him for saying it; it gives us insight into what was going on. But we still can’t change any of that other than to keep supporting the guys and hope that the management pulls their heads out of their asses and figures out how to turn this roster into a winning football team.
And the QB leading that effort next year could be Kirk Cousins or at best maybe Jacoby Brissett…
I very much thank him for the quote, and especially thank the content creator Ritchie for getting it; may be the most important quote that has come out of that locker room in the last three to five years.
I just feel like we’re still back at square one, only now with better information. Which is better than not having that information, but we’re still at square one. 🥲
Other than Sauce and Breece, who are the likely contributors to that culture he spoke of?
Quinnen?
Quincy seems like a candidate.
Who of Sherwood, Clemons, Jermaine, McDonald, Adams?
Most of the rest of the roster was 1st and 2nd year guys and new acquisitions.
lol this is cope
His job was literally to strip the team down and build it back up.
They’re only at the Strip the Team down stage.
You have not seen the attempt to build the team up.
Judging a coach on stripping the team down — and having a shitty record while doing it — is really dumb.

Oh boy. This fanbase needs therapy.
