  1. Time flies. This post season will live forever in my mind with memories of stunning defensive plays and great baseball IQ

  2. I know we were all wondering why MLB had Muncy as #2 3rd baseman but stuff like this is why I think he was so highly rated. He’s gotten a lot better defensively and he does it on both sides in big moments

  3. Everything about this game is the stuff of legend. What was so great about this game is how it foreshadowed the madness to come in the World Series, especially how the entire team was able to find an extra gear to dig a little deeper when the moment called for it.

Miggy Ro going all out to beat one of the fastest guys in the league bag…

Doc calling a defensive conference where Muncy was the one to suggest the wheel play and everyone got on the exact same page…

Tommy Edman’s throw giving fans a mild heart attack to end the game just for funsies…

  4. I’m not convinced Mookie actually got the tag down on the wheel play. I don’t ever see it talked about, I don’t see the runner complain, but I just don’t see the tag.

  5. You’re telling me it’s been a third of a year already…? What the actual fuck man.

I get so invested and stressed with the post season, with each game, that it feels like it lasts forever. Then it ends and life just flies by even faster.

    4 months…

  6. The athleticism on display is nothing short of awe-inspiring. What smart baseball these guys were playing.

  7. I initially thought this was the world series but i think Toronto would’ve taken care of the Phillies too

  8. A true fan of the small ball and playing JUCO baseball, that wheel route was absolutely gorgeous. In a time where it’s velo and distance. It was so refreshing seeing the baddest team in baseball do something so sound and fundamental as bunt defense. Besides game 7 of WS. This was my favorite play.

  9. The World Series was so batshit insane that I forgot how crazy of a game this was.

Looks like it’s time for my regular highlights rewatch.

Butterflies and hurricanes – if Miggy Ro doesn’t dive, maybe enough changes in his body/usage that we don’t get that Game 7 perfect moment. Incredible.

  10. Also lmao Freddie almost left poor Max hanging with the high five and then did leave him hanging with the fist bump.

  11. I can’t believe Philly still went for the bunt after seeing what we were going to do in the first pitch.

  12. Amazing defense is the biggest reason why the Dodgers have been as dominant as they are. Sure, they have some heavy hitters in the lineup, but when it comes time to make a defensive play, the other team is always outclassed by the Dodgers and their miraculous feats in the infield and outfield.

  13. Taking both in Philly was the most impressive series result of the golden era until they went to Toronto and got both

  14. So absolutely lovely watching that happen in Philly. Probably the most insufferable fan base in baseball.

  15. I just saw an interview with Miggy Ro in which he described how, at the end of infield practice, the guys would practice the kind of crazy scenarios we’d come up with as kids: “Two out, bottom of the ninth, two men on…” I mean these guys are so dialed in on stuff it’s on another level. Much much more than money can buy!
