Should the Denver Broncos Trade Back In The Draft If It Means Landing a Top‑Tier Tight End
The Broncos offseason is officially underway, and Stokley & Evans with Mark Schlereth dive into one of the biggest questions facing Denver: Is this the year the Broncos finally invest in a real difference‑maker at tight end?
With Russell Wilson’s massive dead cap charge no longer hanging over the franchise, Sean Payton suddenly has the freedom to reshape this roster however he wants. That includes the possibility of trading out of the first round — or using that pick to land a tight end who can change the offense overnight.
The guys break down every angle of Denver’s draft strategy and why tight end might be the most important position to address.
In this episode, they explore:
Why tight end could be the Broncos’ biggest offensive need
How losing Russell Wilson’s dead cap opens new draft possibilities
Whether Denver should trade out of the first round to stockpile picks
How a top‑tier tight end could reshape Sean Payton’s offense
What the Broncos’ current TE room is missing
Which draft prospects fit Denver’s system the best
How this offseason could redefine the Broncos’ identity on offense
Key topics: Broncos tight end search, Broncos draft strategy, first‑round pick, Russell Wilson dead cap, Sean Payton offense, Stokley & Evans with Mark Schlereth.

Trautman is horrible
TE is a luxury thing. Outside of last year where Goedert had 11 touchdowns the most he ever had before that was 6. Goedert also has never caught more than 60 passes in a single year. He averages 10 yards a catch and Even Engram has played more games and is averaging 9.9. Engram has also been the more durable TE in their careers. So if anyone says Goedert is a better TE than Engram its not based in reality. That 11 td season is huge though but not enough to bump him passed Engram. You can say Engram is overpaid though i can go with that.
