Who Let The Suns Get Away With This?

The Phoenix Suns just pulled off a great sneaky trade for Amir Coffey and made room to sign Jamaree Bouyea long term.

  1. We’re 5th in offensive rebounding so honestly we don’t need a upgrade our young bigs just need time to adjust and a ring ain’t in the picture now but if we get better by playoff time I don’t see why we wouldn’t be a contender in the west

  2. When I saw this come through, I was like Cole might be an upgrade at the 3rd pg, kinda glad he won’t report, but then I saw Amir Coffee. I was like, that Amir Coffee that was a pest against the Suns, and I was thrilled to see it was.

At absolutely worst, if Coffee and Cole never play a minute for the Suns, it’s an A trade. It shows the front office gets it. It shows that the Suns have competent leadership. And most of all, it reaffirms the alignment of this team. They are bought in, top to bottom, on the culture.

Best case scenario, Amir Coffee is the 10th or 11th guy off the bench that is pure chaos. He buys into his role, something similar to the Goodwin role, and Coffee understands, he can earn another contract by being a guy that fits the Suns system.

  3. Why would someone say this team is not looking to win a championship this year when you are sitting at the 6th seed, beat the the top teams in the NBA and riding high on confidence? Why are you playing then? To just make the playoffs and say that was a great season… come on!

  4. Another thing that could boost this trade value is if Maluach and Fleming begin to develop enough to claim minutes. The Suns organization may be looking at this differently than the fans, by which I mean believing that they have the "size" issue solved in the long-term when those players develop.

  5. They know what they are doing and it’s amazing to see that they are taking their time with Fleming and ManMan. This team is going to be a force and it’s starting now. May reach a championship like they did not that long ago. Feels ages but it wasn’t. This team is full of surprises and honestly never thought we would be in this position at least not now KD and Beal I felt like it would take us years and I thought we were going to be the Nets right about now. This team is full of surprises and I admit they proved me 100% wrong.

  6. I have a feeling that possibly 1 or 2 of these guys will be waived so that they can sign Bouyea and or Livers to a standard contract while still having the option of grabbing a PF on the buyout market ! or are we now talking now Coffey and Livers facing off for rest of year ?

  7. Every seems happy with Flem and Khaman getting time to sit and develop

Its hard to DEVELOP in practice IMHO

NO athlete starts of playing a sport by practicing

    You start off BY PLAYING

I played endless 2v2 and 21 growing up in grade school waaay before I played team ball

Thats how i got confidence in my shot and my play

It was from running lay up drills and set plays with my friends

It was from actual competitive play

Mean while the entire rest of the 1st round picks are dwarfing ours in mins played

    IMHO
Either you believe in who you are drafting
    Or you dont

And I dont believe the coach believes in them
    Cause they dont get mins
And they are getting any in the G league either
