Way before my time but an absolute legend nonetheless. Rest in Peace.

An absolutely brutal week for the Eagles. RIP…
RIP to a legend
He was a color man on the CBS (I think) NFL broadcasts in the 70s, often assigned to Eagles games. I wouldn’t be able to say if he was or wasn’t insightful, but I do remember him as low key, good natured, with a soft Southern accent. A pleasant listening experience.
RIP
Go Birds
RIP, how many people from the 1960 championship team are still alive?
Damn
Probably the dumbest move in eagles history was trading Sonny for some guy named Norm Snead.
First game starting as an Eagle.
By the end of the 1961 season, he had passed for 3,723 yards and 32 touchdowns, both league records at the time.
Dude was under 6 feet and had a beer gut but he could chuck that damn pigskin. The numbers he put up in his era were insane, rivaling Unitas and Dawson. RIP Legend.
Rip Sonny say hello to my pops..
I’m not old enough to remember him as an Eagle, but I sure do remember him as a Redskin. I didn’t like him because he would slice and dice the Eagles
Anyone know what his salary was during his Eagles years? I would love to see the comparison to today’s QB salaries.
Mr. Run-Run-Pass-Kick. He was a legend! ❤️😢
My uncle jumped ship from the Eagles to the Redskins when they traded Sonny. Never forgave the Iggles RIP Sonny and Uncle Bob
❤️🤲
I always loved that pic for how it illustrates how the game has changed. One of the best players on the planet just chilling on a playground.
Geez. I discovered football in 1968, right after moving to Berwyn for third grade. Sonny was one of the first players I remember watching – for the Redskins, of course, and I had no idea that he was an ex-Eagle.
