I like it. Considering everyone else on this ballot, I doubt Cam gets first ballot. I would be shocked. I do think this is a good sign that he will get in eventually.

cam is not a hall of famer
Not sure he even deserves it ever. And I love him
Newton wouldn’t make the Hall with his career if he was just some guy like Matt Ryan or Philip Rivers (read: bland white dude, instead of a controversial black man with a history of ‘attitude’ and calling attention to himself) and he DEFINITELY won’t make it in if you factor in him being the man that he is. HoF types don’t take kindly to the Cams of the world — you have to have Deion Sanders numbers to be like Deion. Cam just… didn’t do enough. Too short a career.
But goddamn if he’s not a Carolina legend.
He isn’t HoF worthy. They’ll retire his number eventually, though.
Mr. Ballot Contender
The fact that 2 better players #59 and #90 haven’t been retired is asinine
Of course
Honestly as much as I love Cam, Gronk has to go before all these guys.
They can’t retire #1 until #1 retires, can they?
I dont believe in retiring numbers. Why waste a good number. Put him in a ring of honor or something
Cam is a Carolina legend. He is the only player in our history to win an NFL MVP and 1 of only 2 QBs to ever lead the team to a Super Bowl. However, that does not make him HoF worthy. I don’t think he will ever get in and I don’t think he should.
I think he would have had a better shot if he had won SB 50. Sadly not likely as is though.
Well said! It is not a personality aspect, he just doesn’t have the career. I blame KB giving up on that INT.
AD and Gronk are the only first ballot guys imo. Sherm and Ben get in later I think.
If you simulate Cams career I think he makes the Hof 8 out of 10 times. I think he wont make it due to injuries. Specifically the injury vs the Chargers in 2016

Don’t think Cam stands a chance
Only retired numbers: 51, 59, and 90 for me.
