What a dream of a debut. The future of the pens looks promising.
When this was happening and I was watching with my husband and adult son, i immediately thought of Gentzel after the first goal. I still to this day occasionally watch the video of his first 2 goals and his family's reactions. We were talking about it being his first shot and wouldn't if be great if he did the 2nd as well (not really thinking he would) and we noted the parents and brother, exact same as Gentzel. Then he did do it again! So now I have 2 videos like that to rewatch. So amazing. Hasn't been done in NHL since Gentzel, and he went on to be great. Hayes looked unbelievable in that first goal, passed like the other guy wasn't even there. beep beep!! Roadrunner! Loved it!
