Not that it was unexpected, but this was kind of unexpected.

  1. Fire Kerr and Dunleavy. Kerr single handedly destroyed JK careet at the Warriors. He never developed any players the Warriors drafted. Every Dunleavy's trade makes Warriors worse. Joel Lightyear is a joke. He should sell the team, takes the money, moves south and buys the Padres

  2. “flashed superstar potential”? Come on Swish, that’s just a lazy take. Can’t shoot, bad handle, mediocre d (at best), unwilling to hustle without ball. He’s a classic 20 point scorer on bad teams.

  3. Karma is a b….. "For there to be a demand, there has to be demand". After the '98 championship MJ post game interview said that there is no guarantee in having success if you break up the Bulls. He said the Cubs were in the wilderness for 42 and suggested that could be the Bulls. I called that "GOAT" mouth. Chi has not had much success since MJ. Dunleavy utterance regarding JK and subsequent trade for KP and lack of player development just ended GSW chances to put a viable product on the floor to compete for a championship. It's a gamble only because of KP's health concerns.
I wish JK well, he only wants to be great and could have been if only in the right system. GSW been my team since Steph but I don't care much what happens to them anymore

  4. This is not a splash. Once the deal with Giannis fell through, the only thing left is to move Kuminga for a useful piece. As soon as Butler got injured, the season is pretty much lost anyway. Kuminga has upside but it's an illusion. He's poor on defense and can't play team offense. You'll find out soon.

  5. Kuminga might be part of an interesting Hawks. His revenge will get awkward.
On the bright side, the experiment of Tiny Ball (4 to 5 guard lineups) did win tonight. It's fun to see on the (rare) occasions it works.

  6. This trade is to get rid of a problem child (Kuminga) and a wildly inconsistent player (Hield) and in return we got a contract expiring in three months. I’m fine with it.

  7. I'm rooting for KP, but I'm not optimistic. As you say, he's been so injury-prone.

Still, they traded Monta for an injured Bogut, and that somehow turned out okay. All we can do is hope.

  8. Warriors wanted size now they got size zingus come back healthy we get 3 and d big…we need it him and post on the court can deal with alot of tea.s..like the cavs got mobley and the fro…then the thunder have chet and harkestine…jazz now have two bigs…twoves…if it doesnt wirk out he can be packaged when giannis is a free agent just like they did d.lo for wiggins…you watch and see

  9. They just wanted to get rid of Kuminga, they got KP, even if he will play 25 games, still better than NONE from Kuminga😂 Somehow he earned this treatment, don’t know how, but it is what it is!

  10. No confidence was gained for me. I think the team just has to play for honor at this point. And, I don’t really find anything wrong with that at all. Give Steph the players that will honor what has been built. Give 30 a roster, coaching and a professional legacy that can be the foundation for the next iterations of the GSW’s. The trade needed to happen to end the drama with Kuminga and his representation. Was Giannis really going to happen though? An honest look at the Warriors will reveal the truth of Pascal Siakam not wanting to come to the Bay. The Dubs are old and the supporting roster beyond Steph, Jimmy, Melton and perhaps Will Richard isn’t yet good enough to bring a title home. Porzinga will probably play about as much as Jimmy and Horford. If the OG’s were given bodies ten years younger to match the intelligence we would be seeing another dynasty without Giannis. But Giannis wouldn’t have brought a fountain of youth with him if he were traded to GS. What these players do have is respect for the game and themselves. When Porzinga plays he is most definitely an upgrade by any measure. Sad to lose TJD, though.

In grade school in Sebastopol we used to do under handed free throws. I was nine when the Warriors won it all in the 70’s. As a fan, I have been rewarded so well for decades of exploring the wilderness of bad to fun but never dominant or legitimate contenders. I got to watch and marvel for a run that was sweet as they come. A team that gets counted with the Celtics, Lakers, Bull and Spurs for sustained excellence. I am good with playing for honor to give Steph the ability to play meaningful basketball until he retires.

I keep looking back at the drafts of Wiseman, Kuminga and Moody. Of the three Moody is a solid rotation player. Not sure if he would be a starter elsewhere. Unfortunately, nothing to write about Wiseman. JK though? Is he a guy? I hope he flourishes in Atlanta. Or, will he be a wing version of Jalen Green: supreme physical gifts but inconsistent. Those picks from Bob Meyers I think doomed the possibility of there being any sort of realistic hope of the Dubs fielding a contending team. Can’t say what if the Warriors drafted this name or that name – every team can do that. Those were the best years to get valuable players in the draft. The Warriors just finished what, five straight finals appearances? And they had a 3rd and 7th pick? What the what?? But the players didn’t become the bridge. I don’t think a lamentation is appropriate, it is simply what it is.

One last thing. I have given a lot of my thoughts over to thinking poorly of Joe Lacob and pressing his influence on keeping JK and going all in on James Wiseman when he had only played 3 college games. I have softened that stance quite a bit. The Warriors are by any measure a great organization for an NBA player. Maybe the premier quality is how interested they are in the player as a person. A human being. And with that comes attachments to people. Bonds that can override business interests. A lot of mistakes were made, to be sure… the handling of the punch, maybe the handling of Draymond Green in total, Klay’s depature – I can go on. But I don’t know if I can hold Joe Lacob’s sentiment toward JK against him. I prefer to see more decisions based on the warmth of human relationships rather than less.

I dunno man… I just hope the Warriors sunset this era as much grace as they can muster. Ending days are almost never easy. Save maybe for the Spurs. But even the Spurs had a less than amicable parting with Khawi Leonard. But at least Tim Duncan got number five with Leonard. That maybe be what Steph won’t gain. Would have been great but ultimately I am good with that. Gonna have to be good with that.

  11. People have to realize that the NBA is rigged and if not, understand that owners of sports teams own these teams to avoid paying taxes. Basically a money making scheme to keep them rich. If you understand that then it will explain a lot of these questionable trades we've been seeing. As a once Hawks fan, this trade would have been awesome if only the Hawks had a legitimate plan. Besides that when it comes to Zaccharie Risacher starting at the 2 seems nice, but he has been a disappointment. Drafted 1st overall and hasn't been serviceable for the Hawks. Kuminga was given to the Hawks as a possible replacement for Risacher… yes, given to the Hawks like Trae to Washington, and Luka to the Lakers 🤦🏾‍♂️

  12. I like porzingis, but he’s injury prone. He should consider retiring for good and take care of his health. He will find other ways to stay in the basketball world.

  13. What no one says out loud and it's unfortunate for the coach, that 7th pick in the draft should've been a different player. Also, on the coaching front a new system needs to focus on the future and allow Steph and his IQ adjust.

  14. These tards will win nothing. Old broken now distracted! Lacob is buying the Padres lol lol warriors will be on a low budget! It already started. The superstars are no more put out the flame they are no different than the Kings now only more costly

  15. They weren’t using Kuminga, and they were above 500. If Porzingis (big IF), this is a huge win for GS. A center is really the only thing that keep this team from competing.

If (big IF) healthy, this team can compete and be a shocker. They were being torn a part in the interior, this addressed that issue (IF). However…. This team has no future if this fails (most likely)

  16. JK could never identify his role within GSW. Perhaps he will do better in Atlanta under Quin Snyder. Hopefully he won't close his mind to learning from a different team culture and coach even if Atlanta wasn't exactly his first choice.
