A fun bit of trivia that people living in Wisconsin to specifically the County AND City of Milwaukee. A fun fact and article that most probably don't know the history about.
It's an old 2020-2021 Forbes Article talking that Milwaukee Hawks Team. That First few years of (imo) the NBA proper after merging of NBL/ABA=NBA. That Milwaukee Hawks Before moving AGAIN this time to St.Louis, Missouri had drafted the true first LEGENDARY b
Professional NBA player back then the insanely skilled and once in a generation talent the rookie Bob Pettit.
In Ancient NBA historical loredom of the NBA, Bob Pettit was THEE first sort of Superstar player back then for all that meant. Probably still had another job during the off-season potentially. Bob Pettit was he who had ALL of the NBA Records or at least what were allowed to be counted as a counted stat back in those VERY early days of the NBA and the sport as a whole. Bob Petitt held many many NBA records for a decade and a half. Mostly prior to Walt Chamberlain and Bill Russell entering the league. Oh yeah that rookie led Bob Pettit Milwaukee Hawks Team their final year prior to moving again ownership hired RED (FREAKING) AUERBACH you know the guy who Coach and built the BOSTON CELTICS DYNASTY yeah after going broke, most players also left mostly seperately, just not moving again due to not being able to afford the move or find another part-time job in that city, while really like part-time job in their current city a la Milwaukee. Plus, would this just happen again(shocker later on it did from St.Louis, Missouri to the team's final resting place in Atlanta, Georgia! Though a couple icons from that short lived Milwaukee Hawks. Decided to move to the Eastcoast and join another team a la The Boston Celtics with it being most important two that came to mind being one Milwaukee Buck's season Head Coach Red Auerbach taking Star player anf game-changer Bob Petitt. Whom both were the foundation were Boston started to build what would become The Boston Celtics earilest dominating Legacy moving even into today. All thank to the Milwaukee Bucks being ahead of their time and moving AGAIN to next trendy city, St. Louis, Missouri!
I thought it was a fun read and the earliest pictures of what the M.E.C.C.A. and The Panthers foundational Arena looked like 75 freaking ago in Black and White was pretty cool.
Heck, most Millennials and Gen Z'er who live in in Wisconsin or again the County or City Of Milwaukee ALSO don't know that the Atlanta is ALSO the HOME of WISCONSIN and Milwaukee's Initial/First MLB baseball team with the Milwaukee Braves. Both teams literally moved both had generational Era defining players on them. The Milwaukee Hawk's had Bob Pettit and the MILWAUKEE BRAVES had Hank (King of the HR) Aaron!!! Both are legitimately LEGENDS of their eras in their specific sports they played in as Professionals. Both men are incredibly and student understand the sport would be what they are today without both of their contributions. Both men in my opinion are undeniable pillars of each one's professional league's and the pro sport's history becoming, doing, or achieving things that only those two could ever have done as sometimes luck plays a part being in the right place, at the right time, and ceasing the moment becoming a pillar of their sport's foundation growth into the literal next millennium While one played basketball, the other one played baseball.
Though for me I feel like if the Braves would have never left and Hank Aaron was more-associated with "The Milwaukee Braves" as his MLB team for all or nearly all or at least most of Hank Aaron's Career while he was hittimg dingers, to bombers-out-of-the-ballpark HRs, again while ONLY playing for THEE MILWAUKEE BRAVES, I feel baseball would mean more to the city… but… Puffpoof-&-it's-gone!!! The MLB baseball team/franchise up and moves away too, the same city where Milwaukee's First NBA Team ended up.
Atlanta,Georgia but this time its MLB and they took Hank Aaron with them too… Now their fans get to watch and root for ol'Hanky who was still hitting tons of longballs in, his and his team's new State and new City. With new fans getting to watch and cheering Hank Aaron on completely enthralled while watching Hank Aaron blast baseballs into the parking lot. Hoping to catch the game AND the baseball that Hank Aaron breaks Babe Ruth All-Time HR record with as a fan as it would be worth a lot and an amazing site to behold watching Old Aged Aaron make it over that magical number counting digit line from 690-something I think to 700-and something. Still Hank Aaron was still able to BLAST HR dingers out of the team's new ballpark right "off-the-bat"… [The #1 or #2 in ALL-TIME HOMERUNS, depending on how you view Barry Bonds*]
