How The Nationals RUINED A ‘Generational Rebuild’..

The Nationals haven’t made it public, but it appears with new leadership the team is heading towards another rebuild after tearing down the last rebuild. With Gore flipped to TEX it’s likely CJ Abrams could be next it what may be a total overhaul of the farm system.

  1. Yeah it definitely is a shocker to miss up a rebuild that basically was given to you but I actually wouldn’t mind a video or short about your thoughts on the players that they got for gore. Plus a video on your thoughts about the top 100 prospects of 2026 list

  2. I’d argue the Nationals lucked out in winning the World Series at the tail end of their contention window. Bad luck the following year w/ Covid and Strasburg’s lack of health ruined their chances of a repeat run. Even if those factors didn’t happen, the Nationals had a pretty questionable future with a huge lack of blue chip talent in the farm. The Lerner family wasn’t swift enough to consider the club’s middling future and they paid dearly for holding onto Mike Rizzo for several years too long.

  3. All these rebuilds that fail it's because the owner didn't spend money. To rebuild you need prospects yes, but you're meant to supplement them when they blossom by signing a veteran free agent superstar

  4. They've drafted terribly for 10 years. So many bad 1st round picks. Seth Romero literally was kicked off his college team and they not only still picked him but gave him above slot $. The next year they picked Mason Denaburg who is currently the punter for UCF. Elijah Green won't come close to MLB. Jackson Rutledge is a BP pitcher. Cavalli is made of glass. The scouting department took a nosedive

  5. The Nationals' problem is their inability to draft/sign and develop talent. Yes, they developed Soto, but Strasburg and Harper were pretty much MLB-ready upon getting drafted. Who else of note did the Nats originally draft/sign and develop themselves? Nobody. Plus, the Nats seemed unwilling to sign a cornerstone star after the Strasburg and Corbin deals went south in a hurry. Until they fix their drafting issues and become willing to spend money again, they're going nowhere.

Look at the Mets. Yes, they had a bad 2025, but they're set up well for the future. They have cornerstone stars (Lindor and Soto, and I bet they'll extend Peralta before the season) surrounded by a vast wealth of young talent they developed (McLean, Tong, Benge, Alvarez, Baty — all of whom the Mets drafted or signed out of Latin America). Plus, Steve Cohen is willing to hand out big money short-term deals to win now (Bichette).

  6. I was a kid during the dying days of RFK watching Soriano come from my other team (Yankees) to mash in my city. Seen Zim’s whole career, Straus’, Bryce’s, the chip… I’ve seen it all. We’ll be back again.

  7. With all respect, as far as contending, the Nationals will fine. Let me clarify, ad fine as any other NL team for the foreseeable future. The NL DH made LA the permanent NL contender for obvious reasons until they somehow fix the money gap that can afford the best DH and 2-way players. ATL, count your blessings. The irony of Max, the guy that voted for this, lost. Stay in the Fight!

  8. Have u ever heard of the Florida Marlins? I guess they were before your time? Lol do some research before you make statements about things never happening before. Lol

  9. The Gospel:
Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the debt of all our sins. He died, and rose again 3 days later, defeating death. Because of that, He now offers us eternal life through the Holy Spirit; if we choose to accept Him in our hearts and become reborn.

  10. Dane Dunning: nothing burger
    Seth Romero: yikes
Mason Denaburg: Retired to play college football as a punter. Ouch
    Jackson Rutledge: nothing burger
    Cade Cavali: can't stay healthy
Brady House: Could be good but is unproven
Elijah Green: the less said about him the better
    Dylan Crews: Unimpressive so far

That's how you mess up a rebuild
