7. We have to score points consistently. The only way to take pressure off of the defense is to score points on offense; the issue is we don’t have ENOUGH quality playmakers on offense. Gotta draft weapons and get better players on O. The defense is bad but we can’t forget how bad the offense is also. Remember Reich had Jonathan Taylor Jeremiyah Love can be just as good. Fresh legs from the top offensive playmaker in the country would help this team.

8. Fields wasn't set up for success. Please don't forget the many drops on offense from guys like Lazard and Gipson. Fields has potential and needs talent around him, stability with coaching staff, and good stewardship from Woody Johnson. Let's see how the ownership drafts and adds talent to this roster this summer…

    What to expect from Reich? Not much at all. We are talking about an old coach whom no other NFL team was even interested in, who only has a job due to his personal connections with AG.

21. Reich is a solid OC. No, he isn't a McVey or Shanahan , but he knows how to craft a balanced offense that doesn't rely on the QB running all the time and also actually wants a QB who can do multiple reads.

    Agree with Ian, I think he knows how to play and game call against a variety of defenses and I think he can do something that Engstrand couldn't do, adjust the game plan.

    I think too he can help a young QB adjust. My worst nightmare ( which I think is happening ,guaranteed) is jets will use one of their first rounders to draft a QB like Simpson or the like, bc of Woody , and they will be starting game 1 bc of Woody. That is not ideal, none of the QBs behind mendoza are anywhere near NFL ready.

    With Reich it won't be easy, but if you had someone like an Engstrand,green, out there, it would be terrible.

35. A few thoughts. On the downside, a sense of peace is unwarranted when we don't know who the QB will be and we have no idea what the offense can possibly look like. On the upside, I don't put the Panthers situation on Frank Reich. The Panthers owner is, in my opinion, a completely dislikable person as well as being a know-it-all. Also on the upside, I think Frank Reich can make the best of what is available to him. The real question: other than Garrett Wilson, what will be available on the Jets offense?
