  1. They have 3 weeks to sign their UFA s or they have to be traded, two seconds and two prospects is better than McMann and Laughton walking at the end of the year…ps I think you could get a late 1st possibly too if you eat half of those contract s, only for the rest of the season, then you have a few more assets plus the Draft and Fa to get better, plus trades.

  2. Well what happened behind the scenes that Drai felt the need to come out and call out the coaches is it that he’s been harping about it over and over and he’s finally had enough of seeing no changes

  3. Kyper just say tell the truth, dumb tree needs to go and so does most of the players. The player showed their true colours throughout the season and now they’re trying because they’re afraid to get traded. They’re too comfortable. Dumb tree did the same in Calgary.

  4. Just keep McMann. He's a special player. We are so good at ushering out good players…I am getting huge Freddy Modin trade vibes all over again. Stop it.

  5. how does carlo and laughton get 1st plus.. but 25g scorer elite skater.. is only worth a 2nd? just doesnt make sense,.. kyper and toronto media drive up prices for the leafs.. and drive down prices on their own players.. lame

  6. The Leafs should approach Gretzky again about the president job he declined it in
2014 to allow Shanahan to take it but maybe this time he'll accept it .Then let Gretzky pick his general manager of choice
I think any GM in the entire NHL would love to work under the Great one. The Leafs would pretty much have their choice of GM
what better way for the great one to end his NHL resume with a Stanley Cup win with the Leafs

  7. Look, hard decisions are hard when you at least have some cards in your deck…they have any cards to play, if you think you're getting first round picks for some of our duds, you could do that but that might not be the case. Our cupboard is bare, our prospects are far from nhl caliber, Cowan is a good little player, 3rd line at best…Treliving can't really do much, last time I checked we're the ones getting fleeced every time we trade so maybe just relax and enjoy the downfall…lol

  8. What do the 5 assistant GM’s actually do? How many chiefs are needed at the top anyway? Should the Chief even return for a 3 year? This is not what he signed up for to coach and deserves better dedication.

  9. Agree with Kypreos in general regarding Leon bringing up coaching but I think they're just done with Knoblauch. If you take Leon's words with Connor McDavid's at the end of last year's SCF where he said they're just doing the same thing over and over again… that's an indictment of KK. He got out-coached in both SCFs and his only response when things got rough was to throw the 2 superstars out there time after time. No wonder they were exhausted. They want to play but they want to play as a team and I think KK's bias against certain players is grating on the team as a whole. Stauffer says publicly KK's job isn't in jeopardy. I think the players know that and are applying some external pressure as the internal obviously hasn't worked. Lots of blame to go around but the departure of Coffey (was there friction between he and KK?) has been unexpectedly detrimental…

  10. I have no confidence in my Team USA 🇺🇸 except for the goaltending. Terrible other player choices. It’s either Canada’s offense or Czechnia for the Gold.

  11. If I'm Tree for a hot minute, I'm doing this… not a whole lot, however, the vibes need to be better next year for sure! Matthews, Nylander, Tavares are untouchables. Domi, Laughton, Lorentz, Benoit, Carlo (he recently said i love it here) are guys you build around your "core".. the reason I say Domi & Benoit first, they scored in big moments vs. Ottawa.. reward that playoff success. Laughts, Stevie and Carlo seem to want to be here in Toronto. Now, sell off McMann which is end of prime, who leveraged Knies injury to eat cookies (sell high), next year Knies/Matthews/Domi… I'm buying out/waivering Rielly, trading OEL/McCabe/Tanev to get younger, I'm also trading McMann (as said earlier), Maccelli, Nick Robertson, Calle Jarnkrock for players around the league like Mangiapane in EDM that's not getting along with their system. I'm going 1-for-1 roster players (I wouldn't trade for prospects as Kyper said its a 4-5 year rebuild that prospects & picks are good for) if they truly wanna "re-tool" you gotta trade for players that can come in and shake-up the locker room immediately, and you got your core guys! I'm also trading Stolarz to EDM for Podkolzin, or both goalies (like Colorado re-tooled their goalies last year) Woll could be traded for Binner in STL because Hildeby needs a spot next year (and will be FREE on waivers… dumb to keep all 3 goalies, and if a goalie comes back with term you gotta do both like Colorado), and then I'm having conversations with Nicolas Roy, Troy Stetcher to see what they want, should I stay or should I go? I have a feeling Laughton is a core locker room guy, and so is Carlo. So to me those 2 guys are "must keep", they gotta find a way to get cap relief for Rielly his time is OVER in Toronto, they can't keep doing it over with him. Every year we hear, "he's so flashy & great" then underperforms consistently. That's a guy who's TOO COMFORTABLE with a sweet contract kinda like Vlasic was near the end before his buyout. Legendary people, but the skates are moving with the mind any longer.

  12. Still amateur hour with the editors being unable to edit out the dead air for the listers.
Timestamps are good if your not driving. But 5 minutes of that rift when you are operating is hard on the nerves.

  13. 40:25 great Sports Illustrated reference Gord. I used to love the SI Olympic issues too. I loved going over their predictions in each event. I would keep that SI Olympic issue and go over what SI got right and what they got wrong after the Olympics.

  14. 54:53 I remember Kyper made me laugh out loud when he was at the Vancouver Olympics. Slovakia was playing this ridiculously defensive hockey against Canada in either the Quarterfinal or semifinal and in-between periods Kyper said " if Slovakia backs up any more Halak ( their goalie) is going into the Pacific Ocean . Hilarious Kyper.

  15. Norm MacDonald at the Espy''s " the Winter Olympics have started. So we've got Hockey and .. well just hockey really" . RIP Normie. Good comment Kyper.

  16. I went back and watched the podcast from 8 months ago when Toronto lost game 7 to Florida and Bourne said that Mathews is a good as Barkov. I would choose Barkov over Mathews every year, even though he hasn't played a game yet this year. To me, they are not even close to the same player.
