11. I'd rather lose 17 games without Kirk rather than barely miss the playoffs with him. Don't get caught up in the Cousins financial trap that is a dead end road, a 2nd time.

14. Bringing in Kirk means you're not giving up on JJ so I think it's a logical move. I wanted Kirk out of here when he was top 1-5 against the cap but this is a whole different situation now. Plus JJ could pick up a ton from him. What makes more sense, Kirk for a year as an insurance plan. Or trade for Mac Jones, Kyler Murray & basically make them the franchise guy over McCarthy?? If they do that I'm done spending $ on this team.

18. The only qb's that actually do anything for the Vikings are Burrow or Willis IMO. If they get mac, or kyler, or kirk or even Stafford, what is the end result? A divisional playoff loss? Its always the same with the Vikings. Re-tread qb , big expectations, big let down and then back to digging in the used qb bin

19. Nine months ago many posters here went crazy predicting a Super Bowl. Those of us with a bit more objectivity predicted about 10 wins. The crazies went berserk.

    Teams don't win Super Bowls by racing to mediocrity. The Vikings did it again last year, and we've seen the results. Now we may do it again for the 4th or 5th time. Stop doing that. Start building a team that CAN win a Super Bowl. Recognize that, based on where we are right now, it will be a multi-year process, dependant entirely on a dramatically improved draft performance.

    Murray will never win a Super Bowl. Picking up his contract is the kiss of death. Cousins will never win a Super Bowl, and might be completely washed up. Vets minimum only. Mac Jones is unlikely to win a Super Bowl. Do not give up a #2 now, plus another $100 million in the near future, before he has proven anything.

    There is no QB in the 2026 draft, after Mendoza, that would be an improvement. If Burrow is beyond reach, then we have to roll the dice with McCarthy in 2026.

21. Maaaan, I went from so excited about Vikings football going into 2025 to so depressed about the outlook of the 2026 team.
    Why do we keep doing this. Is it even a guarantee that he would take a backup discount? Or are we signing up for a 20-30M/year Kirko?

26. It’s pretty sad to see us Viking fans during a week or two like we have had at the superbowl. We got more run than one of the teams in the big game and now we are throwing JJ under the bus like our coach did the GM and actually are thinking Kyler and Brock’s backup in San Francisco are better than Kirk. There is only 3 options JJ, Rodger’s, and Kirk. And I love the comments about Kirk being a big cap hit as I see the same people actually entertaining a trade for Burrow. Let’s take a breath and relax, enjoy the game and regardless of the outcome the one thing for sure is we went another year without a Lombardi. We need JJ to succeed because the options are all a waste of time and maybe firing KOC is the only answer and elevating Flores is our way out

27. KOC needs to learn that he has to adjust his game plan to his players strengths, not make the player adjust KOC, offense. A great coach knows you can’t ask players to do something they are not capable of doing.

28. Let’s be realistic folks… Cousins IS the only 2ND STRIING option that makes sense. He knows the system and can help JJ progress. It would be good competition for JJ. I am not saying Kirk will be the starter, BUT! I still very much believe JJ is the future QB for the vikings.

    I also believe Kirk would be a phenomenal coach. We have all been saying it for years… Kirk cousins is the best 2nd string qb in the NFL. KOC needs to go get Kirk and have at least a capable qb if the wheels do end up falling off for JJ.

    Side note…. Kirk will give the Jet great stats.
