  1. I'm alright with acquiring Trochek, but only after exhausting all other options. There's gotta be half a dozen more desirable targets.
And if one of Kasper or Nate is the trade ask, thats a no deal for me.
I'm alright with trading top prospects but not for the Trochek types.
I'm saving those bullets for the blockbuster trade possibility ( Thomas, Robertson etc )

I would want a roster player with salary going the other way in a Trochek deal, a 2nd rnd pick and middling type prospect is the type of deal I would be comfortable with, and that might even be an overpayment.

  2. We will get somebody they want to waive + a conditional 3rd rounder that if Red Wings win 86 games in regular season next year will turn into 2nd. for Vinny.

  3. I don't think people understand how little of say Rangers had in a Panarin trade with full NMC and contract expiring this year they were lucky to get ANYTHING AT ALL FOR HIM. Trochek has much more years left and only partial no move so he can be shoped around and sold to a highes bidder, wounder who are the teams he refuses to go are ?

  4. Give them Justin Hol and a late third + retain half … And i might bite … But for real . Thought the roster freeze would spare me some days without … But alas .
Lets see what free agents are gonna do first ..

  5. Youd be better off going for a younger center because trochecks aav and term is so good for what he does. Itll cost an arm and a leg plus to get him out of NY this year. I feel theyre just as comfortable holding onto him and letting him lead our youth through this rebuild we started last year but announced this year

  6. None of those for trocheck . For that price we can get Thomas or petterson . He’s over the hill soon and not worth that haul . Panarin for junk and they want this for him ? Yzerman isn’t stupid

  7. I think Danielson is going to get traded this year, to what team and for who, I don't know, but he's always the center of trade talks. If they trade Finnie I'll riot. He has been too good of a return on investment for what he's "worth on paper" I think we get more value keeping him than trading him.

  8. All these clowns talking about Danielson, MBN, Kasper for Trocheck should take a hike. Like, is this a joke? NYR are not getting any of of our top prospects. I know the Canes and Wild would love to have him so it's gonna cost a 1st but Im not going too much higher after that.

  9. While i like having mason appleton and JVR for veteran status on the team. We need a work horse like andrew copp, someone who is wants to keep their job, score some goals, and help with the offense. And we need another defensive stud like edvinsson because we are hurting without him rn

  10. Trocheck can go to 20 teams. Panarin would only waive his NYC for LA. Look at what Nelson got for the Islanders. A 60-70 point center who plays physical, agitates, is a leader, plays both special teams units and is consistently over 50% on face offs. He is under paid too. He won’t be traded for scraps. The Rangers don’t have to trade him. He has years left on his contract. One top prospect and a first or two prospects is a reasonable deal. No team can hold on to all of their assets. Some have to be used to fill other needs. If Detroit can get Thomas—I would do that but he will cost more than Vinny.

  11. Trocheck and Panarin have nothing in common. Panarin gave one team and was a UFA to be. Trocheck has 3 more seasons on an INSANELY good contract. Trocheck is a center, is built for playoff hockey, is amazing on face-offs, plays PK, is a bit of a pest, and puts the puck in the net. He also doesn't have a NMC. With Panarin, it was move him or get nothing. With Trocheck, they can get a bidding war going, and if the return isn't to their liking, they can just hold on to him. Kasper isn't realistic, because teams don't dish players off their top lines to fill a hole elsewhere, but if one of the others + a 1st aren't on the table, then the Rangers can and should walk away.
